But he's no John Burridge is he ;)

Actually quite apart from being really chuffed for him. It's great for us to be able to say to players that they can reach the highest levels whilst playing for the Villa.

When we signed him I remember thinking “what’s the point in signing him when we have Tom Heaton?”

To be fair, when we signed him, I had never heard of him (like most of our signings). I thought it was good that Arse wanted to keep him, but he came anyway.  Then he saved a pen on his debut and the rest is history.

Players like him, ollie, mings, konsa etc show that anything is possible at Aston Villa.

Its also testiment to people like Neil Cutler who played a big part in bringing him here and getting him to where he is.  Over the last 5 years, by and large, we have had a lot of people who have done this club proud and we wouldnt be where we are today without them.

Needs a club trophy now, or a couple.

he's already a Villa legend isn't he and certainly the best iv'e ever seen at VP,
if we add trophies in the next few years he'll be right up there with the greats of all times

Yes agree, best goalkeeper in my 40 odd years. We need to win something with him now.

You were a dumb, callow youth. You could never have begun to know.

Arsenal of course made the very wise decision of ditching him in favour of Berndt Leno

I think after McGrath, he's the best player full stop in that time.

In my 55 years of following the Villa, it's only the second time that I've been able to look at the teamsheet and genuinely think that we've got the best player in world in his given position. The other time was when we had Paul McGrath.

Very well deserved. One of our best signings in recent times.

I’d argue he’s probably one of the best signings we’ve made full stop.

Yeah, right up there with £110,000 Andy Gray and £500,000 for Peter Withe.

Delighted for Emi. We are blessed.

Platt, Yorke and God for just over half a million.
