11 clean sheets, when did a Villa keeper last register that?

That save from the free kick was astounding, did you see how far he was off the ground, incredible stuff.

Not sure if this is true but he asked the strikers to stay behind after training to give him extra practice as he knew he'd fucked up in midweek. Top bloke.

In terms of how much a difference this guy makes I put his signing on a par with that of our signing of McGrath
Certainly one of the best keepers in all my years watching Villa
(Approaching 60 years)

Made the goal with wonderful distribution to Bertie.

That was a brilliant pass by him.

Apparently after the West Ham game he called on the forwards to provide him with additional drills and training because he was disappointed in his performance.

Not even half way through the season but for me, the signing of the season - not just for us but in the entire Premier League. He exudes calm, class, and clearly has huge talent. Knowing he’s behind them has given the back four the confidence to play as well as they have too.

A proper Villa legend in the making

He's been sensational. Calm and authoritative.

Having a consistent back 5 all season has been one of the principal reasons for our success so far.

The defence all know each other's games and know that they can trust the keeper.

Keep this 5 together, no injuries, for the next 17 games and really, who knows?

In an interview Martinez said he wanted to beat the club record of clean sheets in one season (as he's now got his target of 10) does anyone know what the record is?

The interview was before the Arsenal match on BT I think.
