Let's all get offended on behalf of others, for things that may have happened,  and then burn them.
Agreed.

Interesting. Do you two only get offended by racism on behalf of others? Do you not find it just offensive, without having to view it from the point of view of others?
I generally don't go looking for things to get offended by

I didn’t say you did. But anyway, back on topic, are you offended by racism personally, or just on behalf of others? Or neither?

Presumably you didn’t go looking for this, but here you are. Are you not offended because racism doesn’t offend you?

What’s that then? Asking you a question that you’re seemingly too shy to answer?

This isn't your best take, mate, I'll be honest. There are plenty of things that we can and should get offended by, even if they are "on behalf of others". Overt racism is fairly near the top of the list.

Obviously Martinez is entitled to a hearing, but if guilty it would be extremely poor if no action was taken, whether as part of a collective punishment by the authorities or by Villa, specifically.

Some suggestion that Emi, along with Messi, Alvarez and Otamendi wasn't on the buzz because he stayed in Miami. Thought the bloke far side might have been him but can't tell if he has the blue/yellow hair.

Nah, he's definitely on the bus. He's clapping and singing, but what I can't tell is if he's singing along to the racist song or if it's something else.

Yeah those early Twitter rumours seemed to be bollocks. Not sure if deliberate misinformation or people getting mixed up (sounds like the players I mentioned did get on a separate bus, but later on, after the recoding of the videos in question).

How utterly stupid do you have to be to not only sing the song in the first place but record yourself singing it and then post it to your social media which has millions of followers.

I think we all know a some footballers are pretty unpleasant people - just like there are in the general population.

Hopefully Emi wasn't involved - currently from what I have seen we cant definitively know one way or another.

But seeming we have just seen Mason Greenwood move for 30m euros - I have a feeling that very few books are going to be thrown at people.

I think lots of nations aren't remotely as attuned to racism as we are over here, which is why we (rightly) see it as jarring when we see offensive songs being sung etc. Our Ukrainian guests were amazed when I pulled them up over some of the things they said about people in Leicester, for example.

This ‘on behalf of others’ is an interesting concept.

Does it mean that only children can be against nonces? Edvard?

They live in a bubble and see themselves as untouchable a lot of the time, would be my guess. See Zouma at West Ham with his animal cruelty.

I'm not outraged. Though if there is evidence that he has been singing racist songs, that position may change.

I don't want racists in my club, whether that's supporters, players or staff. There is no place for it.

Anyway, I hope there's nothing to it, because I'd be surprised, and gutted.

My guess is they'd argue they were just singing a song about the team they now see as hated international rivals and weren't thinking too deeply about the lyrics. Total bollocks of course, but that's what I think the 'defence' will be.

I'm sure there's an outcome for this we can settle on that falls somewhere between burning him at the stake, and making him captain then giving him a coaching position for a few years keeping him associated with us for much longer than he should be.

We'll see where we land soon enough.
