I like Boozey's take: thoughtful and empathic; not seeking to criticise.
And here's another thought: who, over these last 7-8 years, might we have had as a central striker that would have served us so well? - not just in terms of on-pitch contribution but also as a club ambassador. I meet many fans of other clubs who praise Ollie and see him as emblematic of our journey from mediocre second-tier to comfortable Chumps League level.
All of which is not to say that his days are not numbered: I think he'll head off to a newly-promoted team in the summer (unless he has an unlikely England epiphany), and he'll leave with enormous fondness and kudos from most people associated with the club.
Honestly, no-one here has anything but praise for Ollie Watkins' service to the club, work-ethic, professionalism OR ability throughout his time at Villa. His career is an example to anyone who aspires to better themselves. He's been a wonderful player... Just not so much nowadays.
