He should have buried that first chance and done better with the second. Then again Rogers pass to Sancho was shit too and then McGinn misses an open goal.

5 in 6 games now. Much more like it.

Maybe, but it is very weird to literally jump on a thread criticising the same player every game, and now even when he scores.

Especially when it’s only about scoring goals, apparently.

5 goals and an assist in the last 7 games.

I think Watkins is the least id the things to worry about currently.

Good that he's getting his numbers up now.
Mind you he's not allowed to miss chances.
After all everybody else scores 100% of theirs.

Thing with Watkins is that both the best and worst things you can say about him are almost always true.

People having a hard time understanding why scoring at 0-0 and scoring at 4-0 down are so different.

The game was well over by the time he got his consolation goal, which was partly his fault for his lack of quality in the first half.

Nobody with eyes can disagree with this.

And no he wasn't the only one. Martínez was shit. The Sanch was shit. Rogers was shit.

Dunno about that.  With more clinical finishing over the season so far, we’d surely be at least 3 points better off, without factoring in what we might got tonight.

It’s just boring - his form hasn’t been great this year, but recently his goal scoring record is right up there. The bigger problem is we conceded 4 tonight.

I’m not an Ollie basher. Far from it.

But I don’t think focussing solely on conceding 4 goals is the right analysis.

If we were more clinical (not just Ollie’s chance) and we score when on top then the second half might have been totally different.

Plus the assist tonight for the second goal.

Potentially, but it was a more a point of highlighting that whatever the circumstance when Ollie doesn’t score at least a brace there is a trend (of one really) to immediately come onto this thread and call him useless. It is dull and so ridiculous imbalanced.

Good point, Monty. Good way to end the year, the pipe of peace,  both Smirker and Paul are sometimes right regarding Watkins.
