Hang on, so there are people who think he played well?

Doesn’t look like it. But most didn’t come on this thread and say it was like playing with 10 men, despite him getting an assist for our winner, when we’ve just beat Man U for the 4th time in 3000 years. Too busy enjoying the win presumably.

I'm enjoying the win but I'm not going to pretend he had a good game nor not mention it when he's once again done very little.

Absolutely, which is why you jumped on the threads of all the other players to comment on their performances as well, showing us all that this isn't a creepy obsession.

Not the greatest understanding of the word 'all'. 🤓

I posted in five threads immediately after kick off. Four of them were bumps. Anything to deflect from another shit performance though I guess.

I think you'll find I said he didn't play well just a few posts above, so no deflections 😎.

No apology needed. I agree in that I think he’s probably past his best now unfortunately. He’s either in a really bad run of form or he’s done. I just don’t particularly like Villa fans finding glee in that. That’s my perception of what Smirker does.

That’s because you gave birth to him and more than one left foot is going to be tough for any mother.

I adopted him actually. I couldn’t deal with the pain.

Ah lads now, it's Christmas.

I did call my uncle a prick last Christmas...

Did things ever recover?

No, but I was only that mild because it was Christmas. He's a racist ******. I should be able to avoid him this year though so happy times!

It was clearly about Smirker as he mentioned 10 men.

It was, and there’s only one person in the entire history of this forum that doesn’t understand what an assist is and why they matter.

How many has he got this season?

Hardly any - so reasonable criticism is pretty easy. It’s the gleeful, factually inaccurate stuff that seems a bit odd.

Right, but some of the rebuttals seem quite gleeful too. Almost like people have picked a side and are defending it vigorously, and with great vim. It can’t really be for any other reason because he’s been shit for ages.

While he might not be the player of years gone by he’s played his part in this run. Sure the goals haven’t been there but without him we are not winning at Brighton. His running has occupied defenders and created space for others. His pressing has helped us defend high up the pitch. It’s a damn shame he’s struggling because he’s been a massive piece of who we are today. Hopefully he has one big push left in him so he helps us to a really special year and goes to the WC in June.

The previous time we won the league Gordon Cowans had a poor season even by his own admission. Yet Rob Saunders kept him in the team because he knew that keeping them all together was more important than individual performance.
