I think the problem here is that, for whatever reason, Smirker has decided that he was actually never good, and that this is FINALLY being REVEALED, like the Epstein files. Whereas what's actually happening is that he's been very good, but currently is struggling.
I think the dieal situation right now would be for Malen to get a few games and let Watkins work out whatever the problem is because I don't believe he's "done" at this level as some seem to be suggesting, he's just clearly not in a good place right now, whether that's just form/mentality or is an underlying injury doesn't really matter. It's just a shame that we haven't been able to get Guessand up to speed as an alternative for the 'fight' bcause that's just not Malens game and is why he's struggled when he's started games.
So the latest excuse is after an international break that he wasn't even selected for, he already needs a rest after playing 60 mins, bloody hell I've heard it all now 😂

If he can't do that, we're back to his talent...

He's never exactly been Ferran Torres with his touch, but he's been aggressive, athletic, and hungry to learn (one underrated thing about him is his tactical strength). But he's in one of those 'nothing works' phases, in which he's still working hard but with his head down, which makes him get more frustrated, less able to stay in the zone, all that round and round in a vicious cycle.
