So we weather all the stories of Ollie going with nothing from our player or club suggested he will be going. He looks sharp and happy in pre-season and suddenly our own fans now think he is going.

I'm referring to the post a while ago from Vinnie(?) who is usually a reliable source of info.

Where would he go at this point? Newcastle?

They are struggling to get players in for some reason and likely to pay way over the odds (e.g. Elanga) once Isak goes particularly. No way is this the time to consider letting Ollie leave.

Yeah, I'm just trying to think of where is a likely destination if he wanted a new challenge. Arsenal actually bought a striker this summer, so seem unlikely, Man U seem to be getting Sesko. If Liverpool get Isaak then you'd think Newcastle are the only ones worth moving to, in terms of CL. I suppose if they don't get Isaak, Liverpool could be an option too, seems unlikely though. Spurs? Maybe.

He’s looked brilliant in pre season. Should have scored a load more than he has so far. Getting into great positions and his heading has really impressed. He’s going to have a great season.

Newcastle will go all in on Agehowa and Jackson I reckon which will give them a decent front line and both quite young.

I'm one of his biggest critics purely on his finishing, but there is no chance we could even consider selling now. He's not been properly fit for over 12 months so if he now is, I reckon he'll hit 20 this season.

Agreed and he certainly looks like he's benefited from a good rest both physically and mentally. With the World Cup next year he'll want to be on the plane. There's no reason other than injury or Unai burning him out why he can't have his best season ever. If he can convert just a fraction of those type of missed sitters last season, 20 league goals should be his realistic target. Then he has Europe, plenty of opportunity to build on his CL league goal last season and impress Tuchel he can do it against foreign opposition.

Agreed. Crazy that had he actually taken his chances last season 1. We'd have probably been 4th and 2. He'd have been on 22-23 league goals easy, and he had a pretty mediocre season, but was still top 5 output for goals and assists in the league. Need his tail up from the start of this season and he can be a beast.

A long break has probably done him the world of good.
I think it’ll help a lot of players. Many have had next to no break since the COVID season.

not his usual self today - no service, little involvement in general play. Poor.

I'd have taken that before selling Ramsey.
