as we're Europa League - then Watkins is fine. He did n't really get going in the CL - so that might put some off paying bigger money.

In the current climate we're not going to get a worthwhile fee (I think £40m is optimistic) and we would struggle to replace him at that level of spend. But I guess his wages are huge and there are better players than him out there (and please don't, because I can't be bothered).

You don't get away that easily. I DEMAND that you provide us with an extensive list of potential transfer targets. Ideally with xGs, xAs, flags and brief descriptions of hairstyles so I can decide which ones I like best.

There might be better players out there - but to get as close to guaranteeing the output he consistently delivers you’re probably paying a substantial fee and comparable wages. Otherwise it’s probably a bit of a punt on a younger player. Option probably isn’t financially viable and option 2 is a gamble.

For a player to be better for us than Watkins he would need to never miss a match, score 20+ league goals plus a bunch of cup goals, get a dozen or more assists, be incredibly hardworking and professional in games and training. Year after year after year. Should be easy.

I’m in PWS’s camp. I really like Ollie and he’d be tough to replace, if we have to do likewise with Emi it’s likely to set us back.
Watkins misses chances but tell me a striker who doesn’t. Haaland misses plenty without the work rate.

If you gave Malen the amount of games and minutes that Watkins had last season I reckon he wouldn’t be far off maybe even ahead as he looks a better finisher and his work rate looks good as well

Not having a go at Watkins just think from what I saw of Malen last season he was impressive in the short bursts he had

Hopefully going. Then we get a proper striker in.

Coops level of trolling. At least in how nonsensical it is.

Smirker's 8), definitely not a troll.

*Just a little misguided on this occasion.

I know they’re not, generally speaking, but this has to be a wind up. I understand that people might think now would be the best time to cash in, and then get someone better in (which will be pretty hard to do). I understand that people get frustrated that he misses chances and don’t think it’s that harsh when people say that. I just don’t understand how anyone can hope he’s going. It’s a bit weird.

Maybe one of the best managers in the world will also come to that conclusion, having watched him much more than us. Or maybe he won’t.

One of the best managers in the world paid 20-25 million for him
It’s my opinion from what I watched of him last season and there’s a good chance he’ll improve as well

Don’t forget one of the best managers in the world dropped Watkins for Duran and then again for Rashford so he certainly isn’t untouchable
The problem with you one eyed lot is you ask for any replacement names soon as someone suggests someone your all their ragging it because you don’t really want replacement names you just want to carry on with your own agendas

So the question is do I think Malen is good enough to score 16 goals in the Premier league next season if he plays in every game like Watkins did
And my answer is yeah I reckon he could
Do I think he will ? Dont know he probably won’t get the chance.

One of the best managers in the world might sell Watkins and sign Jackson.

I like Malen but if he was so great, why didn't he get the nod ahead of Watkins? I'll tell you, Watkins is currently a better player and one of the best in the business.

if he's one of the best in the business, which he might be, he'll likely leave to play in The Champions League.

Ollie is 3rd in the table for goals and assists over the past five years in the PL, that’s some high level of consistency.

The question is though, has he peaked and more pertinently has his value peaked?

Also, does he want to go.

If he goes he goes with my best wishes, unless he joins the red team from Manchester of course.

I think my favourite post of the day was the chap who'd heard that we might flog Ollie and replace him with DCL and wanted know if it was a rumour.
