I realise many people being ok with him going are more questioning whether now is the time as opposed to questioning his ability - anyone saying he’s no good is just factually wrong - but that is serious hole to fill. For a player to be better for us than Watkins he would need to never miss a match, score 20+ league goals plus a bunch of cup goals, get a dozen or more assists, be incredibly hardworking and professional in games and training. Year after year after year. Should be easy.

Yeah, I reckon that a bid of £50m would be accepted in a heartbeat. But I reckon it'll be bids of £40m and that's the sort of level where there's a bit more of a debate about it.

In the current climate we're not going to get a worthwhile fee (I think £40m is optimistic) and we would struggle to replace him at that level of spend. But I guess his wages are huge and there are better players than him out there (and please don't, because I can't be bothered).
