Nyland was always a good shot stopper but his all round game has improved.

Good performance, plenty of fight. Mings was imperious. He's catnip to a football. It always seems attracted to him. The mark of the Laursen, God, Dunne on his day, where almost every dangerous ball in seems to gravitate to them ahead of the others. I love Tyrone. Nyland looks as if he's completely turned his career around her now. He's well worth his place. Never mind Kaspar at the other end, it was Nyland evoking memories of Peter Schmeichal. Guilbert was very good. Grealish won the battle of the 10's today some great runs and plenty of nous too. I'm worried we're gonna burn him out though. There's got to be a game coming up somewhere to rest him. After we've made 1-2 more signings that is.

Luiz worries me constantly. He's slow, he ponders and his touch is poor. Do Brazilians not get born with football magnets on their feet any more? Technically in the last 10-15 years the national side has been getting very workmanlike indeed.
Nakamba is also a worry. He looks terrified of the football and he's late to the ball and reluctant to tackle at the moment too. He started the season promisingly but he's gone right off the boil. There's a player there but he needs a break. For me Drinkwater comes straight in at the weekend. I'd play Hourihane too.

A horrible way to concede but if we have a front man in place in time for the next league and get Villa Park shaking at the rafters, I fancy us.

Great to see some coaching going on at Bodymoor Heath, Nyland was again excellent. Delighted for him.

Nyland excellent - dont need a goalie
Mings outstanding
Hause and Konsa defended well but Hause distribution was awful and Konsa and Luis gave away the goal.
Taylor - he hasnt got a final ball has he , shocking, the system will work better with Targett
Need to sort our passing out at times .

Would have been over the moon with  a draw before but giving away that goal , tut tut , as I couldnt see Leicester scoring .

Great display, Mings really was very good. I think Nakamba and Luis will both be good players for Villa, but they're not there yet and have lapses in concentration. Another central midfielder and a couple of strikers would do very nicely. We don't need a goalie

Completely convinced that Suso went to Bruges and spent £30m on two average looking players when Smith wanted Maupay and Phillips. That said, proud of the lads today, terrific defensive display and one silly elementary mistake cost us.  Main thing, we are in this tie and with home advantage and a full house we have a huge chance of making a final
