If we sign another keeper when we're so short elsewhere it will be something near to a scandalous misallocation of resources.

The mis-match in resources was demonstrated when they brought on the £25m Iheanacho, who has 100 first team games behind him, whilst we brought on Vassilev for his second first team appearance.

As others have said very disappointing to lose a goal through a mistake. But will take 1-1 all day and we finished the game strong, not collapsing over the line. Rode our luck at times but big positive was Nyland, outstanding right from that first ball. We looked so physically strong defending set pieces with their corners which is a welcome change. Everyone worked hard but we have a huge problem in the centre of the park. Nakamba was miles off the pace early on and he really struggled even to complete basic passes at times. Luiz did ok in the first half I thought but lacks courage to get on the ball from the back. The one time he did, cost us the goal so a real risk of him hiding even more now. Jack was class on limited ball, other two worked hard but lacked quality. Fine assist by AEG, mind.

Thought Rodgers had a bit of a mare tactically, was pointless playing three at the back but he kept it up. Maddison was outstanding but our guys did a great job containing the likes of Chilwell, Perez, Tielemans and even Vardy.

We urgently need reinforcements into our squad, quality ones in midfield and up front. Id be willing to see out the season with Nyland and Steer.

Nyland 9, Guilbert 8, Hause 8, Mings 9, Hause 7, Taylor 6, Nakamba 5, Luiz 5, Trez 5, AEG 6, Grealish 8. Hourihane 5, Vassilev 5, Lansbury 5

As many have said delighted and proud with the team performance but gutted with the goal we gave away

Observations

Nyland - excellent if we do get a goalie he must stay as nr 1 as he deserves it

Back three - we have to stick with it as it gives us much greater solidity and a threat from set pieces

Mings - a warrior a leader a colossus Bournemouth must be wondering wtf how can you sell such a class player. There are very few around like him

Marvellous and Douglas - they have much greater mobility than hourihane and henri but boy do they make mistakes. How badly we miss a fit McGinn

We need two forwards and get rid of kodija I’d rather have vassilev than him

Despite the positivity of tonight’s result, I must comment on how fecking poor Taylor is going forward.
He works hard enough defensively but there were at least 3 times when he was well advanced and for the millionth time showed a complete lack of ability to put the ball in the box.
Every time he feks up it hands the advantage back to the other team and leaves so many of our players out of position.

It’s actually quite a joke now just how ineffective he is.

Nice bloke though.

Stupid mistakes. So annoying.

At least we improved on our corners.

To be honest after he came on I can't recall his name being mentioned again.

I normally try to stay away from Westwood-style pile-ons with our players (though not, I must admit, our Geordie wax-faced former manager), but Taylor is nothing short of a disgrace when it comes to attacking. Full-backs are arguably the most important players on the pitch in the modern game and Taylor is practically in breach of contract for 50% of his role.

Not sure he had more than a couple of touches. Looked like what he was, a kid playing grown up football.

Yep. Ran around a lot but was always a second or 2 behind play.
He’ll get better though.
