Back to two division cricket next summer based on 2019 standings.

Glad that The Shire are in Division 1. They had a great 2019 and a blinding start to 2021, but it went to pot after that.

It's my preferred structure, but a bit harsh on teams who did well this year and last. Feel like they could maybe have based the divisions on average position from 2019-2021. Perhaps weighing 2019 and 2021 more because 2020 was only a mini-season.

Oddest things in Div 1 has 10 teams and Div 2 has 8 - sure 9 and 9 would make more sense? I’d say there must be a simple explanation but it is the ECB so that’s unlikely

I think it makes sense as there are limited weeks to play matches in so you don't want odd numbers so you always have two teams sat twiddling their thumbs. It used to be 8/10 but it's probably better 10/8 in terms of getting the crowd in. It means a higher percentage of teams will have something to play for at the end of the season.

Good news. Feel he is a good influence in the dressing room as well as still being a decent player.

I imagine he'll be good with the younger bowlers (of which we have a few) as well.

Just found out that Eve Jones, Bears captain, had been voted as Female cricketer of the Year by the professional cricketers association. Played today for Melbourne in the big bash.

The Azeem Rafiq case is absolutely disgraceful.

George Dobell has stated that the player using the p word is no longer at the club, and an ex England international, though there seems to be some confusion about this. Either way, there can't be too many of those around, and until there is some clarity I would think they would all (but one) feeling very angry at being tainted by this.

Additionally if I was a sponsor of Yorkshire, I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

Looks like the sponsors are pulling out. Anchor went yesterday talks of more today. Chairman being hauled in front of the Commons Select Committee, whose Tory chairman is said to be absolutely fuming and pressure on the ECB to rightly remove all England stuff from Headingley.

Yorkshire Cricket Club, the home of racists. To be fair most York’s fans I’ve seen on Twitter are absolutely raging. Think some resignations are on the cards.

100% ECB should take away the international fixtures  from there….absolutely shambolic mgmt, if they’d published and reacted correctly to the report it would have been a couple of days max press cycle, the way they have buried their heads means it has been days & took away some big sponsors - such incompetence and arrogance
