Being able to select Woakes did not last long did it Being rested was the excuse ,he has hardly played for a year

We didn’t miss him yesterday did we? The T20 World Cup starts in a couple of weeks so it’s hardly surprising that he missed a pretty meaningless game. He was available when it counted and helped us win the Championship.

Yeah it's like a Super Cup or Charity/Community Shield final.

We will win it whatever.

Was thinking if all fit/available next season the pace bowlers would be difficult to choose from:
Norwell, Miles, Johal, Bresnan, Stone, OHD, Sidebottom, Brookes, Woakes, Garrett

Ton for Rob Yates, I think that it’s his first away from Edgbaston and there aren’t many better places to score a ton than at Lords. 196-1, lead of 118.

He's evolving into a very good opener. I hope England stay away for now though, he could benefit from another summer of county cricket to really establish himself.

I imagine that he will get a call to the A team this winter but he definitely needs more time in county cricket. The trouble is though England are desperately short of batting quality so they may pick him too early and risk ruining his international career before it has started.

If he keeps scoring runs then he will be in the test squad within a year.

This match is already at the point where I'd let Rhodes get his ton and then tell them to tee off and pile on the runs as quickly as they can so we can get on with bowling them out again. There already a decent chance we're not going to bat again.  Weather reports suggest a fair bit of lost time in the next 2 days and we really should be trying to beat them fair and square.

I'd want a 500 lead before declaring. Grind them into the dust. If it's a draw, we still win.

What an end of season this is turning out to be for the Bears.  Whisper it quietly (in case the England selectors are listening), but that top four looks a pretty solid one now going forward in red ball cricket and Alex Davies will be coming in as well.

Warwickshire have (funnily enough) passed Lancs' first innings' score, which means they win the trophy if there is a draw or any other outcome than a Lancs win.

I didn't know that.

I'm not quite sure what the Bob Willis trophy is. We won the CC, so I get that, but why are we playing Lancs?

Contested by the teams that finish 1st and 2nd in the County Championship.
