See, the confusion he generates is spreading. It's for the best if we just trust my opinion on this and sell him. For £45m.

No need to be so snide.

We nearly went down that year but he got us three goals from midfield, one was crucial and the other two were screamers. My point is he hasn't got near to scoring since then because we have put him in a defensive position that doesn't suit him.

Sorry, your tone here has annoyed me.

Ah diddums, what a fucking shame.

Appears Dougie still remains part of Gerrard's plans. https://twitter.com/David_Ornstein/status/1488277271190196226

Let's not forget who Dougie's agent is. Not much brass to be made with a happy player signing a contract extension.

Allegedly turned down three bids today. He’ll be signing a new deal in the near future is my guess.

First time that I've ever seen mention of a sell on clause in his contract!

Hopefully Luiz gets played in a more advanced position. That will suit him and the team more. He’s not disciplined enough to have a defensive role at all.

Didn’t think the original comment was snide, not so sure about the follow up :-)
I do agree with the comment that he’s not a DM and should play further forward though and have been saying it since his first couple of games for us. You don’t have to score loads from an advanced position if you’re providing plenty of assists and getting yourself forward in attacks. It does of course help though and it would be interesting to see how many he’d score and assist if given a run in the team further forward.

Well I'm glad he's still here. I guess that with the fact that we've not brought a DM in, that's going to continue to be his role for the time being, even though it's not really what he does best.

Yeah but Coutinho is the same. I'm sure there will be some payback somewhere, can't have Kia going hungry.

As long as he and Ms Lehmann are in love, he'll be happy to stay in Brum.

I agree. Without a more defensive CM, we are not seeing the best of Luiz.
