Likely has a £100k a week contract coming, is trusted by Gerrard and has a tall blond, football loving, bi girlfriend. Dougie "Jackpot" Luiz is not going anywhere.

Well, now that you've explained it in Lehmann's terms.

Would we accept Doug Luiz going out if it meant Bissouma coming in?

I like him as a player, think he can develop even further with us. But would accept it in those circumstances.

No  if we want to go places, you keep your best players and Dougie is one of those. We shouldn’t get one great player in and get rid of another.

Luiz and Lehmann could become Mr and Mrs Aston Villa. The King and Queen of all our claret and blue hearts!

Probably not a common opinion but I think Luiz is a crap and the biggest area needed for an upgrade in the team.

It’s likely not a common opinion because it’s wrong 🤪

It's the talent opinion equivalent of flat earthers.

I get it, I seem to fluctuate between thinking he's beginning to make a breakthrough for a week or two to thinking he's as much protection as a soggy paper towel. He'll never convince me, so we'll have to sell him because I can't continue with this dilemma. Yep, I'm settled, he's crap.

I'd still want £40m for him though....

Rumours Spurs are bidding £32m.  Really hope he stays.

I would like to have seen him play more as an 8, but the emergence of Ramsey has made that a lot less likely.  I still think he'll develop into an excellent player and if we sell him we'll regret it.  But if that's what it takes to pull off the DM move we're after then so be it.  It would leave very light for DM cover though, which is something we're pretty used to.

When he first came he scored some important goals. Then we turned him into a DM.

He's scored 3 goals ever, and only the one against Watford could be described as important. The first was in the opening home game defeat to Bournemouth, and the second was the fifth in the 5-1 win over Norwich.

No need to be so snide.

We nearly went down that year but he got us three goals from midfield, one was crucial and the other two were screamers. My point is he hasn't got near to scoring since then because we have put him in a defensive position that doesn't suit him.

Sorry, your tone here has annoyed me.
