i take it chester is not fit ?

Unfair. I think he is very attractive  ;)

In all seriousness, he's now our 4th choice centre defender. Which is unbelievable considering he started the season as captain.

if he's now 4'th choice at villa will be the best time for him to move on then especially if you lot hit the big time .

It's weird the way it goes. At the start of the campaign he was the only one we had resembling a central defender. He's had fitness issues, but he wouldn't get into the matchday squad now.

Mings has been imperious, Tuanzebe is a huge part of the way Smith wants us to play and Hause after a ropey start has been excellent.

Remains to be seen regarding Chester's future. We go up I can't see a place for him. We don't go up then maybe we can't keep Mings and Tuanzebe and he gets another chance.

It was very much like the league game at VP in February today.
They got a dodgy goal (two in February) and tried to sit on it.
It worked for them back then and we couldn't break them down but we are a very different team now.
Their goal rocked us for a while and we weren't moving the ball quickly enough but second half we created chances and could have won by more.
Albion will have to come at us on Tuesday and they could play into our hands as Deano said in his post match comments, we are going there to win the game.
I loved it reading that.
They will be without that cheating twat Gayle also.
Wembley here we come.

It’s all unconscious bias that they don’t even know they have.
Brilliant. They should award the poster a copy of the "9 minutes of heaven at Villa Park" DVD.

It was followed by several people quoting it suggesting it was post of the year on there. I don't go there often but it's the best one I've seen!

saw the game live on sky sports and to me looked like WBA came to park the bus and hit you on the counter . think the game will be lot more open at the hawthorns well i hope so for us neutrals .

from purely a welsh perspective thought taylor was poor which is disappointing but nice to see a welsh flag draped over the barrier in the holt end after the game . i take it chester is not fit ?
Yes we have many international  ;) flags in the Holte. Sweden, Norway, Egypt, ROI and of course Scotland and Wales.

Thought the occasion got to our players, McGinn is an example never seen him so anonymous in a game poor all day.

I said the same to the Mrs right at the end - its rare to see a Villa win where he was so anonymous.

Mad- the match was on bein sports in aus. Our local didn’t have it in their package, so ended up watching it on my Fulham- supporting mate’s phone propped up on the bar!

Wasn’t confident beforehand and the Albion were already 1-0 up by the time we got to the pub. All the possession though and the crowd were fucking fantastic, so always thought we were in with a shout.

Thought their goal was a good finish. Hourihane’s was better. Definite penalty. Not even WM could spin that one. Brilliant penalty and the scenes in the Holte were fantastic!

Tuesday can’t come soon enough. Shit that Leeds bet Derby.

I was kept in rapt amusement at Madrid airport earlier by SHA.

The winner, in my arrogant opinion:

"One thing to remember and cause you to feel warm inside - we will never be like them. Never have that repugnant sense of self worth and slimy arrogance.

I’m really proud to be Blues and love our passion, good humour and self deprecation. What is football about - is it about being loved by Sky and drooled over by sanctimonious tw@ts in a TV studio? I don’t want Andy Hinchcliffe or Don Goodman to like my club. I honestly couldn’t care what any media brainwashed ex-pro thinks. It’s all unconscious bias that they don’t even know they have.

That feeling of goosebumps when we are belting out KRO at some random away ground is worth so much more to me than them lot failing.

Even if they go up - they will still be Vile fans - that deep sense of insecurity and arrogance will be with them for life. They will never win the league again and that will always cause them to have huge existential angst and deeply embedded shame.

Don’t let them get you down - I’m off for a walk with the dog with a big smile on my face. Always proud to be a Blues fan."

I chuckled for ages at the sentence in bold.
how can you be insecure and arrogant at the same time? I can see how delusion and idiocy go hand in hand though.

I also like how he finds the idea of having a sense of self-worth as 'repugnant'!

"Why don't they hate themselves like us lovable [though not, clearly, to ourselves] bloos?"

Great day out.  Fairly poor first half, and most of the team were surprisingly sloppy.  Weight of expectations perhaps?  Whelan had one of his worst games for ages, which I would put down to a long, hard season catching up with him.  I hope Smith plays Hause at left back for the away leg, because Taylor is really, really, really crap.  Mings wasn't at his imperious best today, but Axel played some nice balls out.  Hourihane coming on really breathed life into the team, and from that moment there was only going to be one winner.  Superb atmosphere at the start until they scored, and then for most of the second half.

And I was sat a few seats away from David Bradley, aka Walder Frey from Game of Thrones, who I now know is a huge Villa fan.  He was joining in with the "Fuck the Albion" chants with more gusto than I imagine would be good for a man of his years.

This gives me goosebumps.  Good old Walder

From the bloke amazed people don't know about the Royal family!  :P :-*

Oops, just seen that it's already been posted. Wonderful video, though.

They showed character, Smith showed that he can change the game, it's good stuff and I'm (naturally) still predicting a heartbreaking defeat on penalties either at theirs or in the final, but I guess I'll enjoy this while I can!

Born in Birmingham?

Wasn't aware that there were geographical qualifications required.
Yes it is to gauge pessimism.

Correct. I was born in Birmingham and I am the most miserable, glass half empty, get you’ll ever meet. I firmly believe we will lose either this or the final on penalties. I even think Tammy will miss the first.

Delusional bollocks.
Sadly Birmingham City will always be behind us.
They can’t beat us at football so scrabble around for anything to be ahead of us.
Enjoy the dog walk. Your pet clearly has more intelligence on this and many other subjects.
