We are just not fluid at all with him starting. We all love Ty but just time to move on from playing for us. He will still be very good elsewhere. I’d love him long term to come back do what Ian Taylor or Elmo does for the club.

Love ya ty but its clear this summer  we have to let you go if you want to continue playing.   Just not at the level anymore sadly

I hope we win the trophy so mings goes off with a winners medal for everything  he has done for us. If he was to hang up his boits think he would make a fantastic  youth coach if we can slot him in somewhere

Might make sense for Tyrone to have a couple of years in the Championship before the end of his career - where we need to get to, he's not at that level - been immense for us, but it's done.

I think that Pau vs. Mings debate has, sadly, been put to bed.

Yeah but no but but numbers and stuff.

Yeah. Results are irrelevant.

The results were being brought out every couple of days last year.

Is there a reason you randomly stopped the statistical analysis of the Konsa / Pau vs Konsa / Mings thing?

It’s very apparent that the team can function with Pau - doesn’t always happen, but we play best with him. It cannot function with Ty starting now, sadly.

Torres is important to the way we play.

If we want to be at our best, the two who make the biggest difference are Torres and Kamara. We look so much better bringing the ball out of defence when Pau is playing (and that unbelievable long pass for the goal on Thursday too, that sort of technique), and we are better at keeping the ball in the middle with Kamara.

When you take either of those two out of the picture, we're a totally different team. A much worse one.

I love Mings for everything he has done for us, he's a leader and a great role model, but it is clear his age and injuries have caught up with him.

He's finished and makes us so much worse. He isn't Premier League standard, never mind top 5.

West ham or burnley could do worse than signing him for Championship. I think he would do brilliantly  in that league

Some players decline gradually, others more quickly and for some it's like falling off a cliff.

I think Mings is in the middle group, but could very easily end up in the latter next season based on what we've seen recently.

Virgil van Diyk at Liverpool looks to me to be in a similar situation to Tyrone, albeit at a higher level?

Pivotal in their club's success over the years, but age is beginning to catch up with them and form has dropped off to the extent that exit stories are beginning to build.

They've both got a year left on their contracts. Van Dijk is probably looking for one last contract elsewhere and  you wonder what Mings might say to an approach from Coventry offering him a 2 year deal ?

He won't be first choice next season and we really need to make space in the squad for a younger left sided centre half to come in.

He's been a great role model and leader and is a smashing bloke. I wouldn't want all the goodwill he's built up over his time with us to be tarnished by a messy end to his career in claret and blue.

I can't imagine a worse punishment for Mings than ending his career getting a good hiding for Coventry every week. He deserves better than that.

If Cov has any sense whatsoever they'd be trying to sign him. Him and Robertson (an even bigger ask I'll admit).

I love the big man to bits - him, SJM, Grealish and Deano combined to give us our re-birth, but he just isn't good enough for us anymore.

Did the young Turk move back home permanently or just on loan?

A club legend, a giant on and off the pitch and hopefully he gets a medal to show for it. But he's clearly lost it at this level and the team look so much worse when he plays.

Did the young Turk move back home permanently or just on loan?

Loaned out to Anderlecht last autumn, played 6 games before dropping down to their academy side - 4 appearances.

Came back in January, but then went out to Besiktas on loan, but has only played in 2 cup games.

Villa reported that it's a loan with a buy obligation.
