Does anyone know the stipulation regarding fringe players and winners medals?

Yeah, contract lasts to 2027. Realistically that may well be the end of his career.

However, I can’t see him going before then. His value as part of the squad is IMO more than the sum of his parts, and at the end of the day he’s 4th choice central defender - we can afford to keep him and take a punt on a youngster (incl those already in the squad) to slowly blood in over the next 12 months.
Hope he picks up a winners medal this season, not only because it means we’ve won the Europa League, but it’d also be a fitting tribute to his contribution in getting us there.
Maybe they'll use the next 12 months of his contract to start transitioning him into the coaching staff at VP - I don't know if that's what he wants but his attitude would suggest he'd make a good coach / manager at some point in his next career-stage.

Pretty sure you're given something like 40 or 50 medals in total, some go to players on the night and the extras are given to whoever you want.

The Beeb considered him for a pundit role with MOTD, but it turned out he was too bright.

I think I read that he's doing some kind of fast-track course to be a director of football/suit.

I find it bizarre that Rooney got that gig and a podcast to boot! I’ve never listened to the pod as if it’s anything like his MOTD punditry it will be barely comprehensible drivel. He’s beyond terrible.

Jow Art is my favourite.

Rooney is awful to listen to. It's hard to know if Ty would make a good pundit but he's miles ahead when it comes to eloquence and intelligence.

I think neutrals would probably find Ty boring to listen to because of his voice and tone. They wouldn’t be smart enough to actually listen to the words or appreciate his class and intelligence.

I hope he does go into punditry. I reckon he'd be great.

I can see him being good at that.

Doesn't he also own a business or two outside of football?

He's got a big share in a design company and has his own football academy. I wouldn't be surprised if NSWE have some involvement with the academy at some point and that they try to get him into an academy director path, I think he'd be perfect for it. Seems like a perfect fit to work with kids and their families in that really important age group of about 11-16 where being both encouraging and realistic is so valuable. He's seen the lowest of lows as a player but also been able to overcome that and live his dreams.

Been a great servant - but please Unai he cannot start anymore. There were many subpar performances today, but his level is gone and it absolutely kills our structure.
