After the Beeb positivity he also gave t a good write up in the Guardian today, even though they acknowledge his role in the goal. We moan about the press not recognising our players then disagree with them when they do! By the by, I’m impressed they highlighted Villa rather than the other team.
For me the nub of it for me is that he's a good mid table central defender, with excellent leadership qualities and a great left foot which gets us moving forward quickly. He gets into the England team because there's not many options. On the downside he makes too many mistakes to be a top class player and would need an upgrade in the medium term if we want to move onwards and upward. On the whole purely in defensive qualities although Konsa is better and on his recent run Hause would push him close as well.

To me I celebrates Mings hes the best English left footed centre half in the country and at times been the best English centre backAnd by a mile hes the most eloquent English player who has leadership qualities. There's no other plauer apart from Konsa and Hause who are so calm and take time on the ballKongs leads the way his effervescent style is something I like in his ball playing and defending. Its says to me I'm in control.I was initially sceptical on signing him of his wayward temperament in being aggressive but he's only excelled at championship level and just got better and better to me deserving of all plaudits and England international recognition Quote from: oldhill_avfc on January 04, 2021, 04:58:03 PMFor me the nub of it for me is that he's a good mid table central defender, with excellent leadership qualities and a great left foot which gets us moving forward quickly. If you want mistakes over last 24 months then that's Stones done more and Eric Died always a poor pass away from a disaster. So think judging him as mistake laden isn't to fair as he's been in a team under kosh and having to take further responsibility sometimes carrying defence last season. Upon improving and developing hes become to many a top class defender in prem league.Him and Konsa are the two best England defender partnership in the leagueThere isn't another England partnership of Central defence worth changing for.Cahill and DannKeane and Holgate Webster and DunkTarkowski and MeeAny combo of Hause Mings and Konsa is better than them in that all of our central defenders are developed into playing an unhurried style and composed football That's my observations and opinion.
It's all about opinions. There's no inevitability about I because as you say he could improve. The problem as I see at the moment is that his error rate hasn't improved in the 50 or so premier league games for us.He has some massive plus points and an upgrade is way off being the priority. But, when may on here felt that Hause should have retained his place then the discussion is both interesting and valid.
I'd still rather Tyrone be playing for us than, say, Tottenham, Everton etc. He a great player and an excellent chap and I'm proud of him for what he does the BLM and the mental health campaigns led by the villa supporting future King. Oh, he is also still a fantastic player, who makes the odd rick here and there. Different players I know, but we don't moan too much when Jack takes a wrong decision on the pitch, shoots when he should have passed, or vice versa, hangs on to it for too long or generally has a quiet game. Tyrone is one of ours, loves playing for the Villa.
"You ignore the point that in the long run a replacement will be needed - as with many of our current squad - if we are going to progress as we would hope." Oldhill_AVFCIt isn't really that contentious.Yes, and I am discussing the opinion, that I hold, that our manager and coaching staff, who work closely with the squad, week in and week out, and have attained such an unexpected and exceptional level of performance from a squad, that most felt would be in a relegation fight this year, might, just might, maybe, perhaps... know better than we do. They chose to bring Mings back and replace Hause as soon as he was available and, maybe, just maybe, we should believe in their knowledge and vision of what will work best for the team. That's just my opinion. You are welcome to believe you know better than them, and next time you need a plumber, maybe, just maybe, you should try and do it yourself. You never know you may be better at that than them, too.
