Apparently £26.5m must be if all add ons are hit.

Great news the man's already half to been a legend and he's only played a handful of games for us.

£20 million might seem like a steep fee. But actually, we’re getting a leader. A calming presence on the field, and someone who knows and loves our club. I think with Hause beside him and Targett and Guilbert (although the latter is a largely unknown quantity at this stage - but impressed by his attitude so far !) we have a much stronger looking defence.

More than that though, he is adored within the Villa squad and a natural leader. He is exactly the sort of signing we need.

Presumably add ons include survival, in which case it’s money well spent.

I do think there is value in knowing he’s a good fit and a positive influence around the place, especially after all the ne’er-do-wells we’ve turned over expensively in the past few years, for fuck all contribution on the pitch.

Ty would have been a great buy at £15m and is still a good one at £20m, I just hope the injuries are behind him. Having said that, there is no player i am more looking forward to seeing again in claret & blue than Mings. His obvious affection  for the club was infectious and wonderful to experience.

Depends on the way you look at it.  Is Harry Maguire three and half times better than Tyrone (you silly fat barrrrstard).

20 is great if compared to Webster, Phillips et al.  Get it done!  Great news.

20m seems high but what was his loan worth to us?

Very good point, I think £20m is high but  without his loan I very much doubt we'd be were we are now.

I don’t think £20m is high in the context of the PL. everyone wants to be in here because of the money. Well that also means prices are stupid for good players, ludicrous for very good players and outrageous beyond that. And even then as we are seeing with Harry Maguire just how outrageous it can be. Never in a million years is he worth £80m+. So getting a player that means more to us than the cost is worth it. His intangible value cannot be measured.

Damn you read it before the 15 edits. Stupid iPhone
Maybe this can be addressed at your next life coaching session.

Are you and coolerking a life coaching twofer? There’s a thought to curdle the blood ;-)
No way Jose, Hiltz is the only one that has alluded to that quackery.
