Brook is thick. He's a modern day whack and blast merchant. Has no idea about match situations.
I think 400 is about par on this pitch but obviously wait till the Aussies bat.Root was imperious. Crawley played nicely but a poor shot to get out. Brook's shot to the first ball he faced from Starc was a genuine pisstake.I'd suggest dragging our feet in the field as much as possible tomorrow. Make sure its getting dark when we've bowled just 35 to 40 overs as the Aussies clearly did today
Heard Michael Vaughan talking earlier in the week about the way the England players approached playing Bumrah in the summer (just looked to see him off in the main) and said that maybe they should consider that against Starc. Seeing the figures from today's play, he probably had a point to be fair. Haven't followed all of it today, but did it rain. They only bowled 74 overs, which seems low.
Competitive total that. Lower than it should be, but still gives a good platform. There were some suggestions about declaring but we need to bat as long as we can, especially batting as they were at the end of the day.

I think England made the right call, getting the most possible runs in the situation was essential.

Arrogant.
