I think 400 is about par on this pitch but obviously wait till the Aussies bat.

Root was imperious. Crawley played nicely but a poor shot to get out. Brook's shot to the first ball he faced from Starc was a genuine pisstake.

I'd suggest dragging our feet in the field as much as possible tomorrow. Make sure its getting dark when we've bowled just 35 to 40 overs as the Aussies clearly did today

Brook is thick. He's a modern day whack and blast merchant. Has no idea about match situations.

Totally agree. He is white ball captain too.

I slightly disagree in that I think they’ll have to bat well to get 400, I’d say that’s over par but we’ll see. But crucially, you’re in the game with a score like this. 260 odd is very different.

They did say that what Eng have is above average for 1st innings for a day/night in Brisbane.
Good they they have to bowl tomorrow, that will be griping them.

I think there were runs left out there - but pleasently surprised by Root and Archers stand - which means we're very much in it.

Still annoyed with Brook - I really think he must either be really thick, or really self-involved as seems to have no concept of the rest of the team.  If we had left a few more we could still have a couple wickets and have the chance to put them in after "lunch" - which would have been ideal.  Brillaint by Root, excellent and really pleased for him  Well done to Crawley too.  2 players with points to prove and they will both sleep a lttle better tonight.

Obviously we'll see when the Aussies bat, but I think we will regret some of those shots.  Hopefully thats just me being glass half empty.

There are definitely runs out there and poor shots, but equally it took exceptional batsmanship from Root to get through. It nets out that I think we’re there or thereabouts- we now have to capitalise on the opportunity.
