They need to regroup in the break. They are bowling too short and ropey lines.

Stokes has lost the plot as captain in this innings, after doing the same in Australia's second innings in the first test. For all England's bravado and aggression, they don't half wilt when another team puts them under pressure.

The other bit, is contrast the fielding. It’s not simple, but Smith drops Head and compare that to some of the Aussie fielding. We need to be immaculate.
I really hope they’re using the break as a reset.

Also this re-emphasises the point - just respect and try to see off Starc ffs. He’s bowled really well, but he’s been given at least 5/6 wickets this series already. If you just acknowledge you need to get through him and blunt him as best you can it’ll kill their attack.

I think that cut shot fucked Archer off. Important breakthrough, need to really go hard now and get into them

It has been better. What is noticeable though is how Smith and Labuschagne have adapted to it and realise that it's an important time.
If it were Brook batting now he'd be playing big booming drives with no care for the match situation

Watch Smith and Labuschange grind us down. We desperately need a clatter of wickets but can’t see it.
