How ironic that the game was a prolonged tribute to Thorpe, a fine English batsman.

Instead of piling on the praise, a few England batsmen might have chosen to copy his style, the ultimate tribute. I've a strong theory that Thorpey, at 300-3, would have seen England home comfortably.

I love the brand of cricket England play now, you’ve got to take the rough with the smooth, likes of Duckett plays how he does to unsettle the bowlers, which works really well for him.

If Woakes had been fit I’m sure we would have got over the line.

Baker's performance thus far (6 overs for 68 and out for 0 first ball) is reminiscent of someone who has won a raffle to appear with a celebrity team as "star for the day". Ginger Baker could have done better and he's been dead for years (look him up kids, one of the all-time great drummers).

I’m not moaning though….Worcester would probs be nowhere near the 50 over final if half the good players in country cricket weren’t otherwise engaged in that nonsense
