Has he apologised?  He should.

I don't get the constant demand for apologies in the current world.  It's almost an obsession.  I imagine he's far more pissed off about the sending-off and result than you are.

Nonsense.  He's the club captain and is supposed to lead by example.  Ignoring the immediate mess he left us in yesterday, he has fucked us over for the next 3 games.

Had this been done on the Witton side versus right by the opposing bench it might have been given as a yellow. I can see the argument for a red. But way worse challenges get given yellows.

Yep.  At the time i thought it was harsh but after seeing it properly in  a more rational state thats a clear red. Dangerous and lathtuc from our experienced captain. Should know better and i hope the club fine him as he deserves it after letting us down with that reckless decision that cost us dearly.

Now he costs us in the next 3 at a very crucial period.

I dont agree with that.  We have entered a very important part of the season and we have no kamara and potentially no JJ. Now with no mcginn its a absolute disaster in Cm as we are down to the bare bones thanks to his stupidity. A captain sets the example. If we lose the next few matches the mcginn red will be a main factor in that.

Like I said yesterday, losing Mcginn felt worse than losing the game for me but it's done. Spurs played their part in getting him sent off. He'll be hurting more than anybody and he'll run his arse off for us on Thursday because that's the kind of player he is. He's more than played his part for us being up there.

Looking at it again, when you take out the very serious ramifications for our season, it was bloody funny. It was very Sunday League clumsy, all that was missing was him having a fag and a piss on the touchline on the way back to the dressing room.

He lost his head, it was a crazy thing to do and we’re going to miss him hugely. It was far more mental than what Kamara did before Christmas as he nearly put that fella in row z.

I can only think giving them two goals has really done his head in and he lost the plot for a  second.

I think he was pissed off with Zaniolo having just created the best chance of the game for us by barging his way along the goal line.

There's a still online somewhere that shows the moment of impact. McGinn only has eyes for the player, the ball's miles away and he's not interested. It's as red as you like.

I'm surprised you're able to decipher what he's looking at and what he's intending with the look based on that photo.

It was a shit challenge, absolutely worthy of a card. On many days a yellow would have been given, yesterday it was red. I don't think anyone is saying anything much different.

If that had been a yellow, it could have been the challenge that sparked us into life.

I'd say he took his legs, bit there were no studs, no leg was planted, he just took him out. Nobody would want to be on the receiving end of one, but then you'd argue the same about many of his legitimate tackles!!

I think Udogie looks like a very useful part of the Tottenham set-up, a real athlete.
SJM had a rush of blood and took him out  - it happens.

But then what happened next was interesting.
He hit the deck, was rightly furious, bounced up and went to confront McGinn.
This all happened in seconds but, in a flash, the mindset of the modern day player took over.
Straight back down on the turf to maximise the seriousness for all to witness. Job done.

Stayed down for a few minutes. McGinn is red carded. Udogie is helped to his feet & performs the obligatory hobble - Praise be, he's going to live.

Of course, the madcap tackle bashed him up for a few minutes but, fortunately, he wasn't injured.
He seemed quite comfortably able to see-out the full 100 minutes at any rate.

I really don’t see the debate here, it’s a red every day of the week and very stupid and damaging from McGinn. Hopefully other players will dig the team out.

It’s a definite red. There’s no intent to play the ball he just boots him, it doesn’t matter whether studs are up or not. If that happened against Villa I’d be expecting a red.

Btw, we're people as angry as some have been over McGinn when Boubacar Kamara got sent off at Brentford after Emi Martinez had stupidly got involved with Neal Maupay?
