He makes Richarlison look spectacularly shit in that reel. Which of course, he is.

Kane looks like a lumbering oaf too.

If you notice, after that Kane doesn't press him tight again, keeping his respectful distance.

Yep, just sort of goes within a couple of yards, and then jogs off the other way...

McGinn did perform wonderfully against Spurs despite receiving a booking.
Recently, he finally realised what was going on and realised how to play his role in the team under Emery instructions

I worry about him because I think a lot better technical player who offers and scores more goals will replace him come the summer.
He might be reduced to the Henderson of Liverpool type and used from the bench or rotated in but not a first choicer.
Certainly he would be required and valued for the squad if Villa were to get the extra matches with European matches.
But as he's just not a goal-scoring midfielder he's going to be upgraded to one who is in my view.
Yes let’s replace him with Ayez Perez :-[ :o :-X
Perez is more an attacking player.
Wouldn't compare them but I know who I think would get more goals

There's a highlights reel of his performance from the weekend on the OS now, if you don't fancy twitter.

John McGinn on Aston Villa European dream, Unai Emery's obsession & the manager's pull this summer. "We could probably sell out the ground twice over next week. It's a passionate club, a sleeping giant and hopefully next week we can start to wake up a wee bit."

Old Flinstone isn’t going to be happy reading this.

But is it a sellout or are they just saying that?

What drives me mad is rival fans saying we shut the Upper Trinity most of the championship years when every time it actually was open we filled it. Wasn't it more of a police thing rather than lack of interest?

Lack of interest in the first 1 and a bit seasons.

In that three years we had a higher average than Leeds in two out of the three seasons, and that's with them having the Emery-esque appointment, at that level anyway, of Bielsa

Unai Emery keen to reward McGinn with an improved, long-term contract.

"McGinn, 28, has been back at the heart of the Villa team since Emery’s appointment in November. It has been a notable turnaround since the end of October when McGinn was left out of the side by caretaker manager Aaron Danks for the home fixture against Brentford.

Since Emery took over, the Scotland international has been played in his best position and back at his best levels of performance. He has two years left on his existing deal, the third he has signed since joining the club five years ago"

He led from the front today, winning the ball back and throwing his body on the line.  The very last action in the corner summed up his attitude since Unai arrived, winning, determination.  He's now a very expensive player, not that I'd want to sell him.

Him and Mings are 21st century Villa icons. Championship to Europe. Undisputable.

He's definitely a lot slimmer now than he was pre Unai. Apart from his arse.
