He said in his interview on Friday he’s not back for a ‘few weeks’.

I thought we missed him in the first of the Leeds game. Not so much in the second half. He'll be another good option to have once he's back because he was starting to look effective again.

I think Emery said in the last pre-match press conference that it was going to be '1-2 months'.

I'm working around the corner from Harcourt Street, I'll keep an eye to make sure he's not hanging round Dicey's or (heaven forbid) Copper's.

Interested to know why our captain is going to a party city like Dublin when he's bored and injured.
On Sky Sports Friday Night Football, McGinn said he was bored; he also indicated Emery goes on a bit in team meetings. Well, McGinn deserves to give Emery a bit of respect. And there's a good reason Emery goes on; he covers all the details!

I can confirm that John (man of the people) McGinn was on Ryanair flight 5291 to Dublin this afternoon. As I was boarding I spotted a guy wearing a light blue 'Represent' hoodie but didn't clock it was him till the Villa fan behind me tapped me on the shoulder and told me. I'm no Eastie. :(

He shouldn't be taken to flying away for weekends in Dublin when injured unless it's for business of rehabilitation, or a personal matter. If it's for some jolly, then that's just plain wrong. This isn't professional, in my book, and could be the beginning of the end. I don't think Emery will be pleased.

Christ al-fucking-mighty, I'm not the biggest fan of McGinn the player, but that's utterly ridiculous. Where players go in their time off is completely their business, and there are loads of reasons to go to Ireland other than to 'party'. By bored, he means bored of not playing, that much was very obvious. Do you want a professional footballer to be happy that they're sat round watching rather than playing? There are many reasons McGinn might start to get less playing time, but getting a flight to Dublin isn't one of them.

As one of his critics on here, even I acknowledge that he has improved so far under Emery. At the very least, I think he will be a useful squad member for a season or two.

Should we keep up our winning streak without John McGinn in the side for the next 2 or 3 weeks then it's down to him to play his way back in or at least show in training that he's good enough to be included. I can't see how days on the lash in Dublin would improve his chances during the season especially for a player who relies on effort and work rate as an integral part of his game.

I feel sorry for him having to go Ryanair to be honest. Imagine he went for extra leg room

We'd played Friday night, so presumably the players got the weekend off after that. He's therefore free to go wherever he wants within reason. He's never struck me as unintelligent so I'm sure he realises that he's got to stay as fit as possible whilst injured.

Yeah well doesn't make any sense to be travelling especially in low class flights, without I imagine much leg space. At least he had the decency not to set up photos of him at the airport.
He's supposed to be managing a hamstring.
Maybe he hears Guendouzi is inbound and has gone off on one.
Of course players can do with their time accordingly but the captain being injured hoping on a cheap flight screams of something peculiar to me

He's not flying to Australia, he's going to Dublin where once the plane gets to the correct flying altitude the seat belt fasten sign comes on for the descent to Dublin airport.
