Christ al-fucking-mighty, I'm not the biggest fan of McGinn the player, but that's utterly ridiculous. Where players go in their time off is completely their business, and there are loads of reasons to go to Ireland other than to 'party'. By bored, he means bored of not playing, that much was very obvious. Do you want a professional footballer to be happy that they're sat round watching rather than playing? There are many reasons McGinn might start to get less playing time, but getting a flight to Dublin isn't one of them....

Dublin is renowned for its vibrant nightlife and atmosphere. Thats known. Anyway had my say will leave it be but I'm suitability unimpressed and disappointed if there isn't a good reason.

I’m sure John will be suitably cut up about your disapproval.

This topic  seems a bit silly ,  it is 45 minutes trip , probably takes longer to get to Bodymoor from home.  He is obviously trusted and having sometime away because he is injured

There is more to Dublin than drinking

Blimey, who knew? You'll be telling us that we had a Colombian player called Juan Pablo Angel next.

You do realise you almost certainly won't know if there was a good reason or not? He could be going over to get absolutely hammered in Copper Face Jacks and chat up some nurses (or maybe that was just me in the mid 90s) or he could going to a funeral/wedding, or just to see some sights in the beautiful Emerald Isle.

Clearly, we have been looking for midfielders like McKennie and Guendouzi, so if those were to develop then McGinn certainly has some competition for places.

Indeed, there are leprechauns, shamrock, Guinness... horses running through council estates... toothless simpletons... people with eyebrows on their cheeks... badly tarmacked drives, in this country... uh, men in platform shoes being arrested for bombings... lots of rocks, and, uh, Beamish.

Stereotype much? I wonder would you come out with this if we heard he visited another European capital like Paris or Berlin?  Maybe he has family there, maybe he has business there, maybe he is taking a city break. Dublin is renowned for culture- museums, galleries, music and is a major tech hub. McGinn doesn't answer to you Mr high and mighty
