So still people say he should be moved on, despite ranking 1st in the division in various stats last season. So far we've only played 14 games this under three managers. The first of which is the worst we've had in decades.

Take him out of the squad, give the new manager time with him but don't sell now, it's a waste. There are others to get rid of before McGinn.

First in the division in which stats?

Calories consumed?

Greggs' loyalty points?

No need for that, I believe he was No. 1 for Iniesta puns.

He was the number one for tackles in the Premier League last season according to those stats apparently. Perhaps if he didn't give the ball away so often, he wouldn't have to make so many tackles.

He's been totally pish for the best part of 2 seasons now and his limitations are there for all to see. However, he was part of the squad that turned the club around from being a load of half arsed, couldn't be bothered, last pay cheque no marks back in to professionals that cared about their performance and the club. He loved/loves the Villa and I myself feel a bit uncomfortable with some of the personal jibes about him. He might not be good enough anymore but I've a lot of respect for the job he did and the group that he helped forge that got us back stable. He is a bit crap though, yes.

I still think he could be good enough, we will see how he does under a good manager. If he doesn't improve, he should still go with the best wishes of any Villa fan given his contribution to our revival and that, even when he's off form, nobody could ever question his commitment to the cause.

The people that fall over themselves to see how much they can abuse him are weirdos, IMO.

It's more an online phenomenon, I notice. He always gets serenaded when he comes on in matches.

I think people have a lot of love for him still, and want him to not be shit. And he has one of our most popular/best songs which helps.

The stat about being number one for tackles is fine, but look at the other players on that list and it's hardly an indicator of being a good player.

A bit like Deano, loved him for what he did to get us up and in the survival season but he's not very good and we need better players than him.

He's been booed several times this season. I don't agree with that, but the idea that he hasn't had stick from the stands is plain wrong.

Yeah, he doesn't deserve that. He always gives us 100%.

Not that I'm blaming Gerrard whatsoever, but maybe he gave him the captaincy thinking it would bring him to a whole new level. Sadly it did, but a level down.

I don't think he's been right since Grealish left.
