Was surprised he wasn't hooked as he did look as if he was breathing through his arse in the last 15 minutes.
I fully expected him to be the first one to go off.
Like many I think he has been really excellent for us in the past and I have been very reluctant to criticise him, but tonight he was truly awful and we carried him for over 90 minutes. Slow, sluggish, wasteful in possession and lunging into tackles like a pub player. If we want to progress we can't afford to do that.

And there were rumours of 50 million bids from Man Utd last Summer. Be lucky to get half that now.

His metabolism and a lack of confidence have caught up with him.

£25m?! Not a chance.

£10m would be a good result. We had a couple of very good years from him, but sadly the last 18 months have shown he just isn't quite up to it.

Sell him next summer and we should make a profit on him. I think he'd be perfect for a newly-promoted team, and it would give him the chance to play regularly as he enters what should be his peak years.

But it's the same people giving him the same shit. It's as if they can't help themselves and they accuse Footy of doing the same thing (which he does). No, he's not been his best and tonight, I forgot he was even on the pitch. He's been fantastic for us though. If he gets it back, great. If he dosent, then, thanks and goodbye.

I don’t think it is the same people, I think a lot of people have been reluctant to say something in the hope he turns it around due to respect of what he’s been for us.

Unfortunately I don’t think it’s even down to form, he’s just not got the speed of thought or the skill set. Granted he will huff and puff like against Man City when our possession of the ball is lucky to be around 28% his effort will count and he will have a good game based on that desire of his, I just think people are realising as much as you they like him, a realisation is happening that it isn’t going to change.

Its the same with Mings, as much as I love him and we are a far better team with him at the moment, he’s not going to be the player we need to make the next step forward. Probably the same with Konsa.

The only difference with those two is currently they are our best two centre halves but we’ve got four or five players ahead of McGinn now.

He came on at the weekend and immediately started giving the ball away. He spent the whole match doing that last night.

He’s a great Championship player but we are never going to prosper with him in the team at this level.

He doesn’t deserve abuse - which is why he’s not getting any - but ‘great guy’ sentiment is one of the first emotions we are going to have to ditch if we are serious about improving.

Yes, I love the bloke but he looks totally shot. Sansom needs to be in front of him now as 'first change', we need to see what he can do and he can't be any worse.

He's really out of form right now, and I hope he turns that around.

The bigger question is whether or not he's good enough when he's on form.

Last season's stats had him placed really high in the whole division for tackles etc, I posted those stats a while back. That to me shows he's a good player; the main issue is his distribution and retention of the ball.

He has a specific skill set, gets stuck in and is an asset when he's on his game. Personally, I think it's too soon to write him off, even though I understand why many have. Gut feeling is that he got lost in Gerrard's system, and the captaincy did him no favours,i don't think he's the cleverest player either a d you can see him looking lost right now.

With Emery and his new team in place, I like to think they will focus on what's needed and that we'll see a big reset and upturn in form after the World Cup. If we don't, then perhaps in the summer it's time to move on, or accept being a squad player.

He seems a better destroyer than creator. He did brickwall a couple of their attacks really well last night.

Kamara was number one in the Premier League for tackles before his injury. The big plus with him though is that he can pass the ball, and looks like he's got a hell of a lot of potential. Dendoncker is also a better tackler and a better passer of the ball. I think that in the two players I've mentioned, plus Luiz, Ramsey and Buendia, we have better options all round than McGinn. He's not very good at any one aspect of the game and the others are all better at specific things, eg Ramsey at running with the ball and scoring, Buendia at apotting 30 yard passes etc, Luiz at keeping things ticking over.

Agreed. It's time for him to move on. Benefit all parties.

I think as an impact sub he has a role to play. But his lack of form has been so long it’s difficult to remember him having a good game for us.

In what way, he hasn't had an impact for the best part of 18 months. You're never going to get a goal from him, so what's the point?

He's been out of form longer than the DFS sale.

With 5 subs his energy and hustle might be an option off the bench, but I might be clutching at straws.

I was a fan of Wee John for a long time but this is what I think now.

He's been poor for so long now. Overall his time and the transfer has been a success but the longer this goes on the worse fans will feel toward him.

Ask Celtic for £5m and let him go there.
