I don't think he meant it the way it sounded.

It was just a terrible call to make him captain.

Part of interview I'd ask the next candidate what role they see for McGinn. You could imagine someone like Sean Dyche wanting to continue to make him fulcrum of the team so that's why I don't want us to go anywhere near that type of manager.

His reaction to their first said everything. No anger, frustration. Just walked back to half way.

I have no problem with the interview tbh, just with the way he's playing.

His passing tonight...just so bad. Needs a spell out of the team.

I think he just worded that bit badly, which i'd imagine is easy to do right after a game, especially one that bad.

Which bit? That "the performance doesn't represent us as players" when most have been playing like that all season.

And I wish the press looked at the Chelsea game for what it was. The Chelsea formation played into our hands. As soon as the moved Sterling around and tightened up, we didn't have a sniff.

I don't care what he says in post-match interviews. I do care that he's a terrible player who would be far more at home in the Championship or Scotland. Anywhere really, just away from us.

The bit he's getting stick for online is near the end, about ignoring.

Everything  about him on the pitch then off the pitch showed why it was a daft decision to make him captain and why the managers judgement is so far off.

What did McGinn say, I caught the tail end of Les Ferdinand saying he shouldn't have said that ?

That they needed to ignore the derision from the travelling fans.

Thanks Tayls_7 & PWS . I don't think that was said in arrogance ,  but just chose his words wrong under pressure.

Yep. One of the few decent performances on the pitch this season happened in the 35 minutes he was off the pitch against Citeh. During that same time we didn't have Watkins and Ings playing together either.

This is totally unnecessary

Agree. Hugely out of form and he’s nowhere near it. But Villa fans had extremely short memories. Must be the best £2.5m ever spent. This is his first tough period and has coincided with a job he should never have had. To call him absolutely shite is out of order in my opinion. He’ll come good again

He is absolutely shite. Can he please piss off in the same taxi as Gerrard. An honest to god shit sandwich of a player. Never mind the results, Gerrard deserves the sack for making this waste of space captain alone.

When has he been consistently good in the Premier League? I don't care how much he cost, he's not good enough.

He's a lovely bloke and we all love what he did for us in the Championship, but he is far too inconsistent in this league and another Manager will not put up with the same poor performances.
