As the sub was straight after we'd gone 2 down it's hard to know if it was the subs or the second goal that did for us. I will say though that it was noticeable, to me at least, that one manager made multiple changes despite leading 1-0 while the one losing 1-0 didn't make any.

Buendia was waiting for a couple of minutes to come on when they got their second to be fair.

Ings should have been first man hooked, switch to 4231 and got Ramsey further up the pitch.

Why was it a terrible decision? He did fuck all except shoot from a ridiculous angle when anybody with half a footballing brain would have passed it to the man in space. Almost as bad a mistake as Mings made.

It was criminal.

His shot down the Kepa's throat before the Ramsey miss was awful too. No composure, from captain down.

That was a great scoop to Bailey. It was tougher than it looked, Bailey barely saw the ball as the defender was immediately in his face. He did well to make contact and direct it towards goal, I thought.

Do you have an alert on your phone whenever someone says something positive about McGinn?

It's called reading the forum and responding to people Clampy, it's how this place works.

It sure does. That's why I posted what I did.

Bloody hell, even the optimists are arguing! That can't be good.

As soon as he cut in onto his right foot, I knew nothing would come of it.  Wouldn't be surprised at all if he was trying to pass it. All bets are off when it comes to JM's right peg.

McGinn lacks the stamina to run up and down the pitch.
He also squandered some excellent opportunities against Chelsea due to poor shooting and decision-making.
With all the pressure, he's really become a subpar player, and I believe the captaincy has made him worse.

He is now subbed constantly- having an inability to justify him playing for 90 minutes, because he's basically showing ineffectiveness, and a distinct lack of quality.
Very unimpressed by him at the moment he's very disappointing captain.

McGinn 28 today and going backwards.
Think he's had his peak at Villa. Reached his level.

Arguably the worst permanent captain we have ever had. Been a complete disaster and all made by an ego driven manager who needed to choose HIS captain. Caused completely unnecessary disruption at the start of the season.

He is absolutely shite. Can he please piss off in the same taxi as Gerrard. An honest to god shit sandwich of a player. Never mind the results, Gerrard deserves the sack for making this waste of space captain alone.

That they needed to ignore the derision from the travelling fans.

I didn't take it in that way. I don't think he means they're not heeding it, more that it's not going to help preparations for Sunday.
