Its a bullshit article. They happen to be all going to the same destination (McGinn, Maguire and Dallot i think), the article presents the headline likes it mates going on holiday and by implication McGinns off to united. When you read it, it gives no evidence for this and actually references Dallot going away with his missis. Pure propaganda for Yanited.

Away from the article, i love McGinn and wouldnt want him to leave, but when we get the fabled DCM in, it means we have McGinn, Sanson, Dougie and Ramsey, competing for two no 8 spots, this would soften the blow.

going on holiday with Maguire what could go wrong.

The one where McGinn is actually in a picture with anyone its with Mings.  You often see this sort of thing TBH I think its just easy way of filling pages.

Maguire looks like his mum got him ready. Who ties a hoodie?

You should have seen the food on the side of his face til his mum did the "lick your thumb" thing and wiped it off

Down by Witton Lane off the M42
Inside of Villa Park wearing claret and blue
In the centre of the pitch with a cheeky wee grin
There played a little wizard called Johnny McGinn
And if you wanted to know what he was about
Just watch him volley it in from 40 yards out

Go, go
Go Johnny go, go
Go Johnny go, go
Go Johnny go, go
Go Johnny go, go
Johnny McGinn

Does anyone have any idea why McGinn seems to play predominantly on the right side of midfield for us atm?
Doesn't quite seem to make sense to me because he is so one footed and means he's constantly turning back into traffic or is unable to play balls down the line that would be much easier if he was on the left, or perhaps crossing the ball (which he definitely can do).

Maybe because we're generally narrow behind the striker(s), so Gerrard wants the ball play from wider in towards the middle? Rather than opening up and passing out wide?

Dunno, one for the manager :)

Gives a better angle to feed Cash on the overlap, as well as dragging the covering player inside to leave more space behind?

Yeah that all makes sense, easier to shoot cutting in from the right too. I think just because he had a bit of a stinker with the ball on Saturday it seemed to highlight the drawbacks of doing that. However Ramsey was on the left and was great at cutting in/feeding Digne.

Until we get a proper defensive midfielder, McGinn is being slightly restricted and its affecting his game more than it is Ramsey.

Obviously Doug isint the best for that role but hes filling it until we get a better option or Nakamba comes back.

And maybe McGinn is filling in on the right (in an eight) until Douglas is free?

Having to play deeper and deeper since Marv’s injury. Inhibiting his natural game, it’s a sad spectacle at present.

McGinn's poor form pre dates Nakamba's injury. I really wish Gerrard puts an end to him playing at RCM as his technical limitations on his right side are being brutally exposed.

To be honest I think McGinn isn't good enough to play regularly in midfield in a decent team. Further up like he does for Scotland for sure but his passing from a deeper position is woeful. Doesn't track runners, struggles to get turned on the ball (bum roll trick isn't working any more) and lacks the required stamina to play in a 2 or even 3.
