That was some debut for sure. Skill, work rate, passing and shooting throughout the whole game. I’m more excited about how his and Grealish’s inter play develops. There were sighs there on Saturday that it could become something special.

I was very impressed with SJM very good debut loved what I saw and I met him before the game really nice chap I like Hibs we have had brilliant players off them down the years so got a soft spot for them.

I'm glad he put in a performance like that, it backs up my thinking that him in a 3 with 2 from Hourihane, Thor, Doyle-Hayes, Lyden or Clarke could work and we wouldn't need a specific defensive midfielder. Then Grealish can have a fairly free role in front of them and not have to worry so much about  coming deep to get the ball.  We'd lose width but given Kodjia, Green and Adomah all naturally drift wide and woulld be the main options up front they'd give us a lot of the width we're losing.

That's exactly how I'd set the team up right now. Give Kodjia and Green licence to cut in as much as they want but to start from wider. None of our strikers (other than Davis when he's fit) are going to dominate a centre back and be that traditional target man so instead we'll look to put them in through the channels and test the defence with their mobility instead of their strength.

Always liked Hibs best in Scotland as it was too easy to go for Celtic. I’d love it if we adopted/nicked/shared Sunshine On Leith as an anthem (Liverpool and Celtic both do You’ll Never Walk Alone). It’s a great moving song and the words are very appropriate (in the main).

I don't think it would work Mal.  Leith is Leith.  We need something like Sunshine on Saltley or Helianthus in Harborne.

We could have a summer and a winter song. A Scorcher In Aston and Wet In Witton. Or maybe even Pissing Down In Perry Barr.

Our anthem should, undoubtedly, be Summer In Summer Lane.

Only just caught the highlights, but he looked absolutely top drawer. He runs, he tackles, he passes, he wants the ball... and at last we have a player with real quality at set pieces.

Early days, but he seems like a great signing, and for sensible money too. Credit to whoever scouted him.

2.5m was what I heard. Regardless, he looks cheap at twice the the price.
