Alex Scott and other pundits have pulled out of presenting the Football Focus and Final Score programmes, in solidarity with Gary Lineker, the BBC understands.

The former Arsenal player, who has presented the popular Saturday show since 2021, pulled out just a few hours before it was due to go on air.

Very good display again today in a different position. We didn't miss Kamara at all.

Like Watkins, he is enjoying a new lease of life under Emery. Night and day compared to his performances under Gerrard where he seemed to constantly get picked as teacher's pet despite being well off the pace, consistently.

I was certainly in favour of John being rested during his poor run of form and I never thought he should have been made captain, but fair play to him! The guy under the watchful eye and coaching of Unai and his team is doing brilliantly at the moment. Keep up the good work!

Absolutely.

Unai has brought more 'calmness' and less 'chaos' into McGinn's game.

I take my hat off to SJM, I thought he might be one who would struggle with the new style of play.

Long may it continue.

Last few? Last season he was getting worse as it went on (hardly a surprise), and the start of this..

Yeah, last few for me too. I think he enjoyed a good spell in the 7-2 season, apart from that he’s looked out of his depth. Emery’s definitely come to his rescue a bit but I’d still buy Guendouzi to replace him.

Is he still Captain now he is back playing regularly?

The captaincy seemed to be Gerrard wanting to put Mings in his place and probably thinking he needed a midfielder to be captain "coz he was a midfielder who was captain". But yes it put undue pressure on McGinn as his performances were awful, but Gerrard couldn't then drop him because of giving him the captaincy in such a way. I do wonder if that caused a split in the dressing room for awhile as well.
