I can't see what else would provide them with a return on their investment, other than a possible sale of the club, but if Nas and Wes were considering that, I don't understand why they'd need investment from Atairos whose speciality is development.Indeed, it all looks really strange - as if the only realistic explanation for their increased involvement is the one thing the club have specifically ruled out, ie stadium move.Heck ruled out a stadium move; maybe it was simply expedient at the time of his comment. Like others, I think a stadium move seems most obvious right now.Or a full scale redevelopment of Villa Park, the transport infrastructure and the environs.Hopefully this.Just where to play while it’s being built…

Quote from: Demitri_C on October 10, 2024, 04:47:32 AMMaybe ask wolves to ground share? Not ideal but i doubt they would say no for a ground share agreement and say no to rentNot sure how that works with FFP though?FFP is not a problem, the costs of renting and all other associated costs would be allowableThe cost of building the new ground and any borrowing associated with it wouldn’t be.It looks like Molineux is the only ground share option locally. It would be terrible though.

Temporary stands like when we had the Commonwealth games made the capacity around 40k. We could play there for a couple of years while they redevelop Villa Park and the surrounding area.

If we had to share at the Molineux, they might let us put in temporary stands in the corners to increase the attendance. Issue with the Albion is it's 26,000, so no room for all season ticket holders. At least at the Custard Bowl, we'd have space for all season ticket holders.

Temporary stands like when we had the Commonwealth games made the capacity around 40k. We could play there for a couple of years while they redevelop Villa Park and the surrounding area. It was 30k.Can you imagine playing anywhere worse than that, though? With a big fucking athletics track around the pitch and a load of temporary stands open to the elements. I'm also not sure how appropriate those temp stands would be for football, with the increased movement of the people in them, and for a winter sport, at least 23 times a year. We'd be better off playing at Wolves, it'd make way more sense. Or even Albion.Although if it was Albion, we'd clearly need to carry out a mass vaccination program before allowing our supporters to go there.
I’m not comfortable with the thought of the Villa playing their homes games at another ground in the West Midlands, even on a temporary basis.
There's no point moving to a stadium that isn't at least as big as Villa Park with the North Stand knocked down, for obvious reasons.
