I've enjoyed the documentary.  And yes, it's certainly a priority as it gives them a huge commercial advantage above competing teams at their level - both direct income but also the extra sponsorship that publicity brings.

I can see why the teams they've been given a leg up over hate them, but this isn't oil money or huge sums chucked at them by the owners, just the owners thinking differently and using their profile.

50k seats is obviously a pipe dream, but as the interview states they'll just develop stand by stand and see how it goes.

Wrexam is a historic club with genuine local fans.  The owners seem to be invested in the community and doing things the right way.  For now I'm pleased for them.  If they ever get to the PL I think their popularity will wear a bit thin for me, but for the time being I wish them well, and certainly against Blues next season.  Infact, I wouldn't mind a road trip and a ticket for that match.

The documentary will get pretty boring once they start stagnating in the mid-table of League 1. And another flavour of them month will usurp it. But fair play to the club for the success so far.

They'll be having a right old sing song about stadium expansion/garden sheds/ and such like.

There isn't enough land round the NEC, there's no infrastructure except Resorts World, which I doubt can cater for 50,000 people in three hours  and take a look at the access roads onto the M42 whenever there's a show there.

They’re building a new junction close to the nec though what’s that for?

JLR.

Is it. I thought it was for the HS2 Station which seems to be in the middle of it.

Its for the airport to take traffic off of junction 6, the junction is also going to new access/exit NEC roads. It wouldn't surprise me if along the new access road the new service station is built. Cath de Barnes was the preferred site, so this would be perfect. Jcn 4 was turned down as a site for a new service station

Definitely part of HS2 and nothing to do with JLR.

Pre-lockdown I was doing some work over the Hampton side of the M42 and we were told it was part of some upgrading of JLR access.
I didn't know that. Seems a bit of a distance from JLR.

I can see them getting to the Championship but reckon lower mid table there will be their ceiling. For now, I've still got goodwill towards them but it is a bit mad how famous they've got. Can see why it would piss off others who've been labouring down there with them for years but didn't get the Hollywood owners.

I really like Ryan, seems like a really genuine bloke. I think this will be the last series of the show, they'll know that it is highly likely that in League One that they'll be in mid-table obscurity for a bit. There also can't be many more TV worthy stories from the locals. They've been smart in getting an edge in their competitors, good luck to them. Maybe they can buy Everton's new stadium when they fold.

Not really. Sponsorship deals they would never dream of, media coverage, paying non-league players championship wages. Ask a lower league fan about what they think of them.

Regardless of what happens, Rob McElhenney & Ryan Reynolds have been invaluable for the town itself. The difference over the past few years has been astounding. It's seeped through in to everything, a kind of sense of optimism and pride in the town.

When you see kids in town now, it's predominantly Wrexham shirts. You notice from my little girl's class in the juniors that kids who are just getting in to football - it's practically all Wrexham.

There's also been a noticeable increase in the number of (predominantly American) tourists, which has been great. It's not a place that has previously had an awful lot of people coming to visit to see the sights, but it's nice that they want to come. I've noticed a load of smaller cafe type places managing to hold their own now, whereas before they might've gone under. I'd guess the university has probably seen a bit of a boost from it too.

I dunno, I kind of get the slight resentment of other clubs at that level but honestly, Wrexham are probably now back in their natural habitat of the 3rd tier. It'll be interesting to see what happens over the next few years, cos the jump from where the club is right now to competing for promotion will be huge. It'll take time to do it, and as others have said I wonder whether they'll manage to keep the documentary going for season after season. Maybe they will.
