Atairos minority stake purchase in V Sports complete.

Here to "provide capital to fund infrastructure...". We all have our interpretations of what this means.

New ground.

Unless anyone can think of any other required infrastructure investments needed?

Also, worthy of note, Villa Park doesn't belong to Villa, it belongs to another company in the V Sports group (remember that little bit of FFP dodging?).

We're in the same boat (and what a fine boat it is!) on this issue. Absolutely no other earthly reason why we'd specifically need "infrastructure capital" and cancel a large scale infrastructure project simultaneously that would be a pair of Diaby's to NWSE.

It would seem a bit odd to get hitched to this sort of minority stakeholder if it's just to fund a new stand or the likes. Time will tell I suppose

Interesting. I wonder how the accountability and control will be exercised?

Who wants a boat when we play at a majestic Cathedral.

So unnecessary in my view, anyway, hope it's worth it when we end up being just like any other club instead of the one that has played there since 1897.

I'd be sad to leave vp, but there would be something very funny about us moving into a new state of the art ground, given the current pant wetting from that lot about their pipe dream

Villa Park is like Trigger's Broom. You're lusting over something than doesn't exist with references to 1897. Dynasties build things. The Flavian Amphitheatre was a new ground once. Let's build it in Town, damn the expense and have the greatest monument to football in the country.

Is there any way of using this new partner to allow us to splurge in the summer without being docked points?

Yep we’re not historically a Birmingham Club so why would we move away from our identity?

We used to play in Perry Barr, so moving to Rupert Street gas towers site (fingersX) is not an issue and it can be integrated into the greater Eastside expansion of City centre. I do recognise that we will still remain in the shadow of the world first super sports arena at Adderley Road.

I'd accept the 'identity' argument if most of us could walk to games.

Random observation, but I notice that very often, when non Villa fans talk about Villa Park, they invariably talk in hushed tones about the history of, errr, the Holte steps, seemingly thinking they're Victorian rather than 30 years old.
