There's a correlation between the dramatic up turn in goals conceded since the Wolves game when Jedinak last played and before that.

On the face of it this should be a procession for the home side but the one thing you can guarantee with Villa is that whenever you think you've got them sussed and a result is inevitable something extraordinary happens.

Reasons for optimism no science, no surprise team selection or killer formation it's just that I'm going. I haven't seen us lose up there and I haven't seen us lose a league game this season. For the 2000 of us going, stiff upper lip, smile shake hands with the enemy (most of them are decent football folk like ourselves) and sing the roof off the place.

We'll get bent over in the potting shed again I reckon.
Charming. For readers who may not be familiar with the vagaries of football bants I believe Robbo is suggesting that Villa's fixture at St.James' Park  may result in a comprehensive defeat for the visitors.
football Bantz? It's a film reference. And not a scud one before anyone says it!

Does it have Tom Cruise in?

Ray 'Where's your tool, this fackin tool' Winstone I think.

I'm sad that nobody picked up on the missile punathon!

I think you've blown it (which could of course work with missile puns and Tom Cruise's rumoured sexual ambiguity)

I'm getting that " sickening gnawing " in the pit of my stomach again. It may not just be my Sunday lunch...or getting ready for breakfast. I think there's something BIG about to happen on Monday night. I am so nervous for anything that precludes a huge, massive, embarrassing turn-over..........that I am not sure whether to watch it or just record it and then scrub the recording if it / when it goes the wrong way.
My admiration for those 2000 intrepid followers knows no bounds.

Apologies for the methinks comment a couple of pages ago, didn't realise it would cause such uproar.

I hope Bruce plays a 442 tonight if that's the formation he thinks we should be going with, I still worry about just a 2 man central midfield though if he does though as Hourihane and Lansbury are more attack minded so I don't think we would get much protection to the back 4.

Perhaps 433 if Jedinak is fit and playing as a defensive cover in the middle allowing Hourihane and Lansbury to get forward.

I think I read that Hourihane has the most assists in the league this season with 11?

Anywhere in the centre is good enough. Newcastle is quite tiny but with plenty of decent watering holes. Is Shearer's bar still there? that was always good for a starting point. You'll mix with home fans but, funny thing, they're actually okay.
