We all know that Lambert and Faulkner are off to New York this week to see Randy. Randy owns a restaurant there and it's closed on Friday for a 'private dinner reception'.
Now you don't close a whole restaurant just to treat a couple of employees to a meal. Or do you?

Short but impressive wine list - let's hope his guests appreciate fine wine.

Did you scroll down past the Champagnes?

Gigondas more expensive than chateauneuf du pape - I never thought I'd see the day.

Personally, I prefer Gigondas to Chateauneuf du Pape. I've got a few bottles of 2005 Santa Duc in my cellar and am waiting for them to come into season.

Also if you do visit the village, there's a very nice wine co-operative in the square where you can taste the majority of the producers from the village and purchase the wine at a very very good price.

In Chateauneuf Du Pape, you are greeted by an incredible arrogance and almost aggressive sales push that means you end up not being able to sample the same quantity as you would do in Gigondas. There is a place up on the hill though, not far from the Chateau where the chap speaks very good English and does a tasting of some of the best vintages from the last decade. That's your best bet.

In both cases, try and find local accommodation. Or you'll end up like I did - due to the zero tolerance of the French Drink Driving laws - sleeping in the car with a pissed off girlfriend!

Lads,

Heard the buyer is on his way over in the next few weeks which is promising.

Heard he wants a big marque signing to show rest league what we are all about.

Pfizer seem to have money to burn. If they were to chuck a few billion of that money in the direction of the PM's favourite club it can surely only help to "oil the wheels" of their takeover of Astra Zeneca?

They'd guarantee to , ahem, keep us up ?

Surely they'd prefer to be associated with the Blues. They could be the answer to Small Heat's problems.

Hello, Mr Read's office'. Good afternoon, Ian Huntley Palmer Smith calling, PA to the British Prime Minister, Mr Read's expecting my call'. 'Just a moment sir'. 'Ian, what's happening?' . 'Dave's given me certain assurances on the Astra take- over thingy, should one pre-condition be met. You are to attend a meeting on Friday with Randy Lerner in the Meeting House Restaurant, Amagansett at 7.30pm together with a selection of dollar trillionaires of your choice, but only one need sign the necessary paperwork .Randy will identify himself by wearing a limited edition T Shirt, claret and blue in colour, bearing the legend 'I'm the only ITK'. Two other gentlemen will be present. Hand the money to the ginger one, he'll take care of the vulgarities. Toodle pip.'

Is there any truth that the non-playing staff have been told to reapply for their jobs? Does anyone here work for the club?

Highly unlikely to be true. If there was a transfer of shares the identity of their employer would not be changing and if the takeover was by some other means then their employment would transfer automatically to the new company under TUPE. Any dismissal or change in terms because of the transfer would generally be unlawful.
However Richard from a personal experience reapply was the case under TUPE protection when the business I work for was transferred to new owners.

A lot of employees for Villa will be seasonal, so they probably have to do this every year, to the point where I think this is a bit of a none event as far as the takeover is concerned.

With the Pfizer CEO, a jar of chloroform and some hastily rearranged signage at Villa Park and (Astra Zeneca Farmaceuticals Corporation?) I'm sure a deal could be done quicker than you can say "due diligence".
