Last time we did a transfer with no functioning manager someone swapped Milner for Ireland.

It wasn't a straight swap, we did get about £16 million in cash, too.

When I was teaching at Hammersmith I had a really useless student.   Tim Nicebutdim years ahead of his time and bald to boot.   He jacked in his studies and went to France and worked in the vineyards.   He married the heiress to the Veuve Clicquot champagne dynasty.

I only found out about his rise in the world when I had contrived to drop our family Morris 1100 keys down a drain in Chalons and I was walking to the nearest Leyland distributor (and I said HE was stupid) and he recognized me and gave me a lift and brought me back to Chalons.

Been in meetings all day since 8am GMT. Just skim read the last 9 pages to catch abreast of events.

Essentially unless I've missed something, nothing has happened.

NOTHING !!!

All this wine nonsense! You get all these wine people, don't you? Wine this, wine that. Let's have a bit of red, let's have a bit of white. Ooh, that's a snazzy bouquet. Oh, this smells of, I don't know, basil. Sometimes you just want to say, sod all this wine, just give me a pint of, mineral water.

Can I just shock you? I like wine

You've been in meetings constantly between 8am and 9.42pm?

Where do you work? The UN? Are you brokering agreement between Russia and the Ukraine or something?

That is why we are rambling on about wine and stuff silhill.   Trying to kill a few weeks while we wait to discover our destiny.

Brian Green I have to say I love your posts, sometimes when its all getting a bit tense on here you come up with some lovely anecdotes which have a calming effect on me when our wonderful club is worrying the hell out of me, thank you.
