Not in a million year are we safe. Doesnt matter how many teams are below us, the points gap is still too small. Chelsea want Champions League and Wigan could need a win to stay up.

Hardest run in out of the lot for me

Amazingly, I agree Tuscans, and am more worried about relegation today than I was yesterday. The gap is the same, but a tough fixture for Wigan they have won.

FFS, are you serious, we've won, teams above us have dropped points, Wigan are still 5 points behind us, with 4 games to play to our 2. How on earth are we more likely to be relegated now then we were yesterday? I swear some people want us to be relegated just so they can say I told you so.

We all know we are not safe, yet, but to say we are more likely to be relegated than we were is a ludicrous statement.

I appreciate the irony in ending your post with 'ridiculous statement' when not a sentence earlier you say that people want us to go down.
*Shakes head and rolls eyes*

More worried John!!! Not more likely. That is still the same as it was this AM.

Worried / likely infers the same to me.

Also, it's not the same as it was this morning is it, unless I've been dreaming.

Being worried has no bearing on whether something will happen, it is a personal feeling.

It is not more likely - the position we should be concerned about, 18th, is still exactly as it was at 3.

It isn't though, there are now 5 teams that have to do better than us in order for us to go down.

But the one in the position we are trying to avoid is no further behind, nor closer to us. Those other sides have a game left which on paper I would expect them to win. As such, for me, Wigan are still the side.

I think you put too much store by games teams are 'expected to win'. It rarely turns out that way, if it did the bookies would all go bust.

The significant thing is that there are now several teams that have to better our results to survive. It might happen but it's unlikely.

We weren't great today but penalty aside, did Guzan have a save to make?

It is, Naarwich have been pulled into it too. More teams scraping it out the better.
Weds match is key though, let's face it Norwich and the Geordies are more worried now than they were at 3pm.

Of course we're better off now than we were this morning. We've got through another game and we've won it. It's not over until the end, but you have to jump the hurdles that stand before you and the finish line, and we've leapt the last two like a thoroughbred with a rocket up its arse.

As Lambert said, you must concentrate of your own games and win those which is precisely what we've done - again. Marvelous stuff.

Managers under pressure talk bollocks. It's the law.

I think Hughton should pick himself up and go again

We were in a better situation at 5pm than we were at 3pm. I can confirm that after a couple of hours drinking I believe we are currently now in an even better situation than we were at 5pm.

Absolutely spot on!! I was in a great mood until i came on here, the amount of dejection on here is unbelivable. I also didnt realise we were guarenteed to lose our next 2 games according to some  "wise owls" on here. Weve won 5 of our last 8 but we are automatically going to lose our last 2. Are some people ever happy FFS.

Absolutely great result, and its a about time we did get a last minute winner and have a bit of luck for a change. We might not be safe yet but im 100% happier with our plight than at 3.00pm.

He had an ice pack on his thigh in the dug out. Reckon it was a dead leg from that dirty bastard Holt.

A game closer to the end of the season and no closer to the bottom.

That is a step forward.

It raises an interesting question, though. A couple o games ago the consensus seemed to be: 'if we can't get six more points from our remaining games, then we deserve to go down.'

Well, now we've got them. If we went down, would we deserve to stay up?

Doesnt sound all that serious then in that case.

He was sat on the bench with an ice pack on his thigh. Not sure where you get ankle injury from. Grant Holt kept 'roughing' up our defenders, raking his studs down people's legs and the like. I imagine it was something along those lines.

Saw him crouched down feeling his ankle early on , maybe it was the thigh injury that forced him off - either way hopefully he will be fit next week.

Lichaj filled in well enough for him but Lowton is a much better threat going forward.
