Blimey. I was wondering how long before NRC's name came up.
Why is this Randy's fault? Some posters on here spit the dummy more often than a toddler on Boxing Day. Chin up its only game 2.

I don't think Clark had a shocker. Which of the goals were his fault? It was relentless pressure and no protection from midfieldThe 3rd goal was his fault. Watch the replay, simple bit of movement from Jelavic and Clark is just stood ball watching. And he got sent off because he switched off again. I have long not been sure of Clark as a centre back, I just don't trust us to keep a clean sheet when he plays. I think he is a very decent footballer but I am not sure where he would slot in at the moment with his complete lack of pace.I think Bannan is getting a slightly rough deal on here but he like all are youngsters just have very little experience of winning. I would like to see the stats for some of them in terms of win, losses and draws - to me they look like they are just happy to be playing. There is no winning instinct amongst them.We are desperately one paced and lacking leadership. There was a short corner in the 2nd half where we made the amateur error of not sending a second man out, allowing them to walk the ball into our box. I watched afterwards and all the players just turned and walked off. Someone should be getting a bollocking for that but there was no sign of it.The worrying thing is that it does not look like problems which management and coaching can fix. It's the basics like controlling the ball, following a man which isn't there. We don't look like a side who simply needs to get used to a new system. We look like a side who needs to get to playing football.Barry Bannan's 22 for gods sake. He ceased being a youngster around 19. Hes not good enough!

Hopefully we are approaching the bottom of the barrel. Either that or we are sitting in the middle of it. It was never going to be easy, and it's really going to hit home to Lambert that we are a long way off being a competitive side in this league. To think only 5 short years ago we were looking every bit as strong as Everton were today. There needs to be some soul searching followed by some spending between now and the 31st.

Two years and three months ago we finished sixth again having only been knocked out of the Champions League race at the start of May. Our fall from grace has been swift to say the least. The problem is that we only had one way of playing under O'Neill which although flattered us a bit (reliance on set-pieces and counter-attacking) was effective more often than not. Since then we've lost all threat from dead balls, struggle to defend them and don't have the pacy players to kill teams on the counter. Houllier's change of approach to a more patient passing approach was always going to take a long time and an overhaul of players to implement. I'm still not sure what McLeish's philosophy was and now under Lambert I think he'll try and impose a mixture of Houllier and MON's styles which, understandably, will take time and more to the point, cash.
