Some positives when we went down to 10 men.

Still completely piss poor though. Get your wallet out Randy, or fuck off.

180 minutes into the season and it's a bloody disaster. If it's a marathon, not a sprint, then Villa are Paula Radcliffe just before the Olympics.

Embarrassing. As an assessment of the squad, Baker slightly changed my mind in the second half he might make it as a centre half. Bannan and Fonz will never make it and should never start for the club again. KEA looked a lot better once Bannan was off. N'Zogbia awful as usual. Concrete Ron will be alright. We need a left back, centre back, centre mid, winger and a striker and all of quality. Get your fucking act together Lerner.

Randy's stewardship will be defined by what happens in the next week.

If he fails to back the manager with at a minimum of three of four quality signings that will have been three seasons in a row fighting relegation.

Early days, but come on, that squad isn't good enough some of the players are not Premier League standard.

At the moment Villa are what drops out of Paula Radcliffe, just by the kerbside.

I expect people to disagree but I genuinely think that game could've been much different if Given hadn't buttered his gloves.

KEA looks like he'll do fine in the prem, holman and Weimann looked good when they came on, Vlaar was generally solid, Clark not so much but didn't have the shocker some seem to be suggesting.

N'zogbia did what we're all used to, carreid well at times but had far too little end product, I can't think of a more frustrating player in recent times.

Baker looked decent when he went back to CB, he's definitely not a left back though.

Positives - KEA looking like he could be a player, Vlaar looks solid. Lowton looks decent and Baker was very good. We scored our first goal.

Negatives - Everything else.

I can just imagine the manager sitting in a darkened room tonight and thinking "What the hell can I do"
