Well, fair play to him for giving up his salary. I confess I had no idea he was still playing.

Matt Lowton, famous for ‘that’ goal considered surplus to requirements at Burnley has joined Huddersfield T’own on loan presumably for the rest of the season.  Good signing for them I’d say

Darren Byfield in as interim manager at Crawley (who look like they have all sorts of ownership issues).

Crawley seem to be the latest, but probably not last, club to be shafted by some internet idiots who think owning a football club's a piece of piss. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/jan/05/crypto-chaos-how-crawley-crumbled-under-owners-reckless-leadership

Burnley continue to clear out the Ex Villa section of the cupboard with Ashley Westwood joining Charlotte FC of the MLS on a free.

I saw James Bree was now playing at Southampton.
Ex full back from Villa signed by Bruce.
The manager of Saints had him at Luton, so he is familiar with Bree and brought the bacon in transfer window.
Never got the breaks at Villa and be into see how he'll go for half a season in top flight as think Southampton likely to be relegated.

Shame we didn't go on a winning streaky.

Getting shot of Bree was possibly rash but not rasher than Cahill.

He never looked good enough for me, the nail in the coffin was Bruce trying to turn him into a centre back in the last few weeks before he got sacked, I can't recall seeing many players ever looking so uncomfortably out of position.

Remember when Tuanzebe was deployed as a defensive midfielder by Bruce?
Speaking of which Tuanzebe has moved this winter window from Man Utd to Stoke on loan. 25 years old now.

Not a Villa player for long and he didn’t leave long ago, but Bednarak’s own goal at the weekend was quite something.
