Not a Villa player for long and he didn’t leave long ago, but Bednarak’s own goal at the weekend was quite something.
we even picked shit loan players

Worst loans of recent times has to be Danny Drinkwater up there.

Did anyone notice Leandro Bacuna turning up at Watford?

Came on for them in their win against the Baggies tonight.

It was difficult enough to notice him when he was playing in our midfield.

How much do you reckon we can get for Davis.
Out of contract next summer. Loan Watford.
Think it was £15m tag in summer but forest went elsewhere.
Perhaps can get around £8-10m.

If we can get £18- £20m combined for Wesley and Davis not too shabby.

£8m to £10m for Davis would be decent if he can stay fit. Wesley will leave on a free when his contract's up I would think. He's scored one goal all season in the Spanish second division, that injury against Burnley has ruined him completely.

With respect to Davis and Wesley I don't think they are considered Villa players despite being on our books and with poetic licences if I may discuss them here as ex players. Technically it should be loan watch.

Wesley has a £9m tag if Levante are promoted. Its optional clause to buy, though
Levante 3rd in league battling for top 2 for automatic. Then 3rd -6th play off. (Like EFL championship)
2pts of 1st
1pt of 2nd.

It was reported as an option to buy at the end of the season, not an obligation and nothing about it depending on promotion or not. I would think that they probably won't take up that option.

There is also an agreed fee with Watford for Davis. He's not been really amongst the goals yet like he was at Forest, largely due to injuries and him being a selfless giant etc.

Keinan was denied by two really good saves against the Bitters.

His 'defending' against Leeds' goal last weekend was something special...

Matt Lowton, famous for ‘that’ goal considered surplus to requirements at Burnley has joined Huddersfield T’own on loan presumably for the rest of the season.  Good signing for them I’d say

In Colin's starting XI with Jonathan Hogg today

Not playing but new roles for a couple of ex players

Quote
Former Wales defender Neil Taylor has been added to Wales Under-21s backroom staff as assistant to boss Matty Jones.

Taylor played 43 times for Wales and featured in their surprising run to the semi-final stage of Euro 2016.

The ex-Aston Villa defender is working towards his Uefa pro licence with the Football Association of Wales (FAW).

"I'm delighted to have been given the chance to join the coaching team with this highly talented under-21s group," said Taylor.

"Having walked the path that the players are currently on during my playing days, I feel I can have a positive impact on their careers.

"I appreciate the opportunity that Matty has given me and now I can't wait to start working with the players and building towards the next qualifying campaign."

The 34-year-old former Wrexham and Swansea defender has been coaching Aston Villa's under-16s since his retirement in November 2022 and will be joined in Jones' backroom staff by former Wales goalkeeper Boaz Myhill.
