Good luck, Andre.

He was a massive Villa fan and a nice guy as well.

Jordan Bowery playing for Mansfield tonight. 1 goal in 9 games so far this season.
he's done well to be still stealing a living.
thats a litttle unfair, he was not good enough for us but hardly his fault we signed him, he is playing at his level now.

And he has played fairly constantly since he left here so he is obviously a decent player - most of us would give a hell of a lot to be a journeyman pro playing football for a living

He's got more than that. He scored a hat-trick a couple of weeks ago.

A record of about 1 in 5 at L1/L2 level is decent considering he was never really an out and out centre forward. I have no issue with him, not his fault Lambert had a punt on a player who was nowhere near premier league quality.

Anyone who can play professionally for as long as he has can't be that bad. We took a punt on a lower divisions player - it happens.

Jake Doyle-Hayes, released in June and signed for St. Mirren a couple of weeks ago. Scored the winner and was MOTM today in his second league start for them. Happy for the kid from Cavan.

Update

St Mirren's website now shows JDH as having make 12 starts.

Good to see.

Albeit from only seeing him a few times, JDH was a player that I thought might make it at Villa

I liked JDH but I think he'd have suffered with the same issues as Conor has with us of just not having the physicality to cope with how we play.

I suspect the same is true of Jack Clarke who i thought looked a fantastic prospect as a 17-18 year old but who hasn't really progressed and has just gone out to chesterfield having been called back early from Yeovil where he couldn't get a game. I know this technically isn't the right thread for him but it might as well be, which is a shame.

Wee Barry is 31 now.  I think he's playing at his level tbh.

For me he has always been a good Championship level player and at best a Premier League squad filler.

Bannan's had a good career for a player who looked at 18 like his next move would be Kidderminster Harriers.

Bannan lacked the physicality and pace to play in the Premier League imv. Great passer of a ball though.

Another player with a  frame like Bannon , Harry McKirty has just been transferred listed by Port Vale.  Think he is starting to run out of options.
