We're entitled not to want him due to his record, but the protest yesterday said more to me about his Blues connections.  They didn;t protest because we're getting a shit manager, they protested because they're getting a shit Blues manager.

I'm more embarrased by the board even considering appointing McLeish. I think the reaction is understandable. What if Man U had appointed Joe Royle after he took Citeh down? Or Liverpool appointed Mike Walker after he nearly took Everton down? Or Stoke appoint whoever the hell took Port Vale down most recently? It's a shit appointment made far, far worse by where he's been before.

If he hadn't been a Blues manager but had that shit record, there wouldn't have been so many people protesting. But then again, if he was a former Blues manager who had an excellent record there, there also wouldn't have been many people protesting.

The Blues part of it just exacerbates the drawbacks with him as a top flight manager. No there wouldn't have been a protest to the same scale last night, but I bet the general mood of the support would have been the same.

For the record I think he is a decent guy, but do I want him as our next manager, no chance.

I'm not a fan of his managerial ways, tactics, etc., but for the love of God give him a chance. I'm sure the board know the risks and if, after 3 games, he's still shit then I'm sure they'll kick him up the arse and out the door.

Wrong question really.

People will not want him due to his record, myself being one of them, but the strength of how deep that feeling goes is due to the Blues thing.
