Protest?

It really is about time some of you realised that this is just a football team, if your hobby (and that is what it is no matter what anyone, even Bill Shankly, says) is winding you up to such an extent that you feel the need to protest against a manager that hasn't even been appointed, vandalise club property, write nonsensical banners or spout bollocks on a message board that makes you sound like a frothing lunatic then I'd advise you to get a new hobby.
Try needlepoint, or walking through Stapely Water Gardens (but take a flask).

I love the club, and I'm obsessed with keeping up to date with everything Villa related. But McLeish didn't beat up my mum. We all want Villa to do well, but some of the stuff on here is unreal. Right now it is a media feeding frenzy, and listening to Pat Murphy yesterday, you could hear him literally frothing at the mouth by some of the gold that his come his way in the last few days.

Every fan has a right to air their views about the club, but the personal stuff and now the graffiti just makes all of us look like complete morons. The media won't position it as some Villa fans, it will generalised and the idiots will represent all of us.

Unless several thousand turn up it would be a complete waste of time. I have no problem with those who choose to protest though.
I'm not McCleish's biggest fan, but didn't Peter Withe play for the Blose a few years before he signed for us? That one turned out ok......

Let's hope that this isn't the start of things to come. By all means if you want to protest,  do it in a civilised manner but don't cause criminal damage.

I'd like to say on behalf of all Villa fans "We're ashamed of you".

Let's hope that the majority of the protestors are of the 'No to McLeish' placard variety as opposed to the 'Bluenose scum' aerosol type. Unfortunately, whilst people have a right to peaceful protest, I suspect this will be like a magnet to the latter. Sky are already hyping their live coverage of the event. I was embarassed by the grafitti when I saw it on TV this morning, tonight could be potentially shameful.

Like all protests at Villa, a maximum of 100 will turn up and be made to look like utter tits in front of the media. As someone who’s been involved with both AVISA and The Trust and knows the difficulty in getting Villa fans to do anything I can safety say that it will go off like a damp fart. As Villa fans we will do what we always have done and simply stay away in our droves. That’s what we did under Gregory, that’s what was happening under DOL and this is what will happen once more.
The fans that froth at the mouth are a small and vocal, but nonetheless small minority. Most Villa fans will as Dave Cooper said realise that there’s more to life than getting wound up about their hobby, because as most of us know there’s fu** all we can do about it.
I’ve always believed that swathes of empty seats are a far more potent display than torch burning protests down the Witton Lane and no protest needs to be organised for this to happen because as I suspect it will happen automatically when our matchday footfall drops off.
